  • Patent number: 9715584
Abstract: An electronic device provides a tracking report to a computing device that is located remotely from the electronic device. The tracking report may include location information that identifies the geographical location of the electronic device, and device user information that identifies the user of the electronic device. The electronic device acquires location information for the tracking report through a location awareness capability such as a global positioning system. The electronic device acquires user identification information for the tracking report through a biometric scanning component, such as a finger print sensor or other device that senses biometric properties when a user is touching or in close proximity to the device.

  • Patent number: 9715616
Abstract: A sequence of biometric data images is received, such as, for example, a sequence of fingerprint images, and a set of biometric data images is selected from the sequence of images. The set of images can include one or more segments of at least one image in the sequence of images. One or more portions of at least one image of biometric data in the set of images can be selected to be included in the unified image of biometric data. The unified image of biometric data can be constructed using the one or more portions of the at least one image of biometric data. If the unified image of biometric data is not complete, a user can be prompted for one or more additional images of biometric data.

  • Publication number: 20170206528
Abstract: A computing device may determine to execute a secured function. The computing may obtain a biometric of the user of the computing device utilizing one or more biometric sensors associated with the computing device, determine that the biometric matches the biometric of a user authorized to utilize the secured function, and execute the secured function. Whenever during execution of the secured function the computing device determines that the biometric sensor no longer detects the biometric of the user, the computing device may cease execution of the secured function.

  • Patent number: 9710092
Abstract: A device has a touch processing module that processes touch screen input to determine if the manner in which the input was entered indicates that the user intends for execution of a particular command. In one embodiment, the module may acquire fingerprint data from the user's input and analyze the data to determine if the input was entered with a particular finger or finger sequence. In another embodiment, the module may also acquire timing data from the user's entry of a plurality of inputs and analyze the timing data to determine if the touch screen input was entered with a particular timing or cadence. In still another embodiment, the module may also acquire force data from the user's entry of a plurality of touch screen inputs and analyze the force data to determine to determine if the touch screen input was entered with a particular force.

  • Publication number: 20170200039
Abstract: This application provides techniques, including circuits and designs, which can receive information with respect to fingerprint images, or portions thereof, and which can be incorporated into devices using fingerprint recognition. This application also provides techniques, including devices which perform fingerprint recognition and methods which can be performed by those devices. In one embodiment, techniques can include providing a fingerprint recognition sensor in which one or more portions of each fingerprint can be collected as they are identified, and those portions can be combined into a unified fingerprint template. In this way, collection and enrollment of fingerprints may be simplified for users.

  • Publication number: 20160248769
Abstract: A computing device may determine to capture biometric information in response to the occurrence of one or more trigger conditions. The trigger condition may be receipt of one or more instructions from one or more other computing devices, detection of potential unauthorized use by the computing device, normal operation of the computing device, and so on. The computing device may obtain biometric information and may store such biometric information. Such biometric information may be one or more fingerprints, one or more images of a current user of the computing device, video of the current user, audio of the environment of the computing device, forensic interface use information, and so on. The computing device may then provide the stored biometric information for identification of one or more unauthorized users.

  • Publication number: 20160012273
Abstract: A scannable object is sensed and scanned. A map is constructed based on the scan results. The map is compared to one or more stored templates. Results of the comparison are provided. In some implementations, a secured processor may construct the map and may provide reduced resolution (and/or other versions that contain less information) versions of the map and/or the stored templates to one or more other processors. The one or more other processors may determine a match-set based on matching between the reduced resolution map and stored templates. The secured processor may then identify whether or not a match exists between the map and any stored template based on the match-set.

  • Publication number: 20150294382
Abstract: An online store can transmit an online account token to an electronic device or to a biometric sensing device after a user successfully enters his or her account password. The electronic device or the biometric sensing device can countersign the online account token when the one or more biometric images match reference biometric images and the account password matches user identifier data stored in the electronic device or in the biometric sensing device. The countersigned online account token can then be transmitted to the online store. The user can then make one or more purchases after the online store receives the countersigned online account token.

  • Patent number: 9092652
Abstract: A method includes receiving fingerprint image data at a fingerprint recognition sensor, where the fingerprint image data are associated with an authorized user. The fingerprint image data are transformed into a substantially rotationally invariant representation, which is maintained in a database of enrolled fingerprint information. Processed fingerprint image data from an accessing user are compared with the substantially rotationally invariant representation of the fingerprint image data from the authorized user.

  • Publication number: 20150146945
Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor displays a fingerprint enrollment interface and detects, on the fingerprint sensor, a plurality of finger gestures performed with a finger. The device collects fingerprint information from the plurality of finger gestures performed with the finger. After collecting the fingerprint information, the device determines whether the collected fingerprint information is sufficient to enroll a fingerprint of the finger. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device enrolls the fingerprint of the finger with the device. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is not sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device displays a message in the fingerprint enrollment interface prompting a user to perform one or more additional finger gestures on the fingerprint sensor with the finger.

  • Publication number: 20150135108
Abstract: Devices, methods and graphical user interfaces for manipulating user interfaces based on fingerprint sensor inputs are provided. While a display of an electronic device with a fingerprint sensor displays a first user interface, the device may detect movement of a fingerprint on the fingerprint sensor. In accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a first direction, the device allows navigating through the first user interface, and in accordance with a determination that the movement of the fingerprint is in a second direction different from the first direction, the device allows displaying a second user interface different from the first user interface on the display.
