  • Publication number: 20210331214
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning industrial components has a liquid container defining a liquid enclosure for containing a cleaning liquid and ultrasonic transducers having an operating frequency and a wavelength in the cleaning liquid and secured to at least a portion of the liquid container at a spacing of between 2 and 10 wavelengths. In operation, the transducers generate a larger power density in the component-receiving area of the liquid container than an average power density of the liquid container.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 25, 2021
    Publication date: October 28, 2021
Inventors: William Lash PHILLIPS, Shawn SMITH, Byron KIESER

  • Publication number: 20150343498
Abstract: There is provided a method of ultrasonically cleaning a workpiece, the method having the steps of providing a cleaning vessel being at least partially filled with a cleaning fluid and having a series of transducers mounted to couple sonic energy into the cleaning fluid, placing the workpiece within the cleaning vessel such that at least a portion of the workpiece is submerged in the cleaning fluid, supporting the workpiece on a set of rollers by one or more rounded surfaces of the workpiece, operating the transducers to transmit sonic energy to the workpiece through the cleaning fluid, the sonic energy being sufficient to clean debris attached to the workpiece, and rotating the workpiece on the set of rollers within the cleaning vessel.

  • Publication number: 20150000701
Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing accumulated ash and soot from DPFs which uses a combination of ultrasonic energy coupled via a liquid cleaning solution to the internal and external surfaces of the DPF to dislodge and remove the accumulated materials, and a system of directing clean solution for rinsing of the filter elements by continuous filtration of the rinse solution, and a means of drawing residual material-laden cleaning solution from the filter to complete the cleaning process.

  • Publication number: 20140230844
Abstract: An apparatus for cleaning industrial components which has a liquid container defining a liquid enclosure for containing a cleaning liquid and ultrasonic transducers having an operating frequency and a wavelength in the cleaning liquid and secured to at least a portion of the liquid container at a spacing of between 2 and 10 wavelengths. During operation, the transducers generate a larger power density in the component-receiving area of the liquid container than an average power density of the liquid container.

  • Publication number: 20070023632
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer programming for identifying, and/or verifying the identification of, substances through the use of mass spectrometers. A plurality of analytes of known composition are added to an analyte of unknown composition, and the combination(s) are analyzed. Data acquired during the analysis are compared to each other, and/or to known or expected reference data. The comparisons are used to identify substances comprised by the analyte of unknown composition, or to verify the identification of such substances.
