  • Patent number: 8384688
Abstract: A touch screen display device includes; a touch screen display panel including; first sensing lines which extend in a first direction, second sensing lines which extend in a second direction, and a plurality of touch sensors located at a plurality of sensing positions, each of which provides touch data or untouch data, a readout unit which reads the touch data or the untouch data and outputs the read data as sensing data corresponding to each of the sensing positions, and a sensing unit which groups the sensing positions into at least one pre-touch areas using the sensing data and which recognizes at least one touch positions using the pre-touch areas, wherein when first and third sensing positions from among first through third sensing positions provide the touch data while the second sensing position provides the untouch data, the sensing unit recognizes the untouch data as the touch data.

  • Publication number: 20090146964
Abstract: In a touch sensing display device, a plurality of sensor scanning lines extend in a first direction and sequentially receive a first voltage, and a plurality of sensor data lines extend in a second, different, direction. A plurality of sensing elements are formed in regions defined by the sensor scanning lines and the sensor data lines, and each sensing element transmits the first voltage from a corresponding sensor scanning line to a corresponding sensor data line responsive to an external touch. A sensing signal processor converts voltages of the sensor data lines into sensing data, and, a touch determining unit processes the sensing data corresponding to the sensor scanning lines by at least one scanning line to determine positions of touch regions generated during at least one frame.

  • Publication number: 20090040214
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a signal processor using an (n?1)-th conversion signal corresponding to an (n?1)-th raw image signal of an (n?1)-th frame to correct an n-th raw image signal of an n-th frame, and outputting an n-th corrected image signal, the (n?1)-th raw image signal. The n-th raw image signal, and the n-th corrected image signal each have ‘a’ bits and the (n?1)-th conversion signal has ‘b’ bits. The ‘b’ bits is smaller than the ‘a’ bits (a>b). A liquid crystal panel displays an image corresponding to the n-th corrected image signal.

  • Publication number: 20090027425
Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel which comprises sub-pixels including an R sub-pixel, a G sub-pixel, a B sub-pixel and a W sub-pixel and disposed in a matrix form, a gate line and a data line which insulatingly cross each other and transmit a driving signal to the sub-pixels; a driver connected to the gate line and the data line; and a signal controller which comprises a signal converter including a W extracting unit to convert R, G and B image signals into R, G, B and W image signals and a rendering unit to render the R, G, B and W image signals so that eight sub-pixels adjacent in an extending direction of the gate line display three pixels, and controls the driver to apply rendered image signals to the display panel.
