  • Publication number: 20050183346
Abstract: An air-conditioning condensate drainage system for mounting to the roof membrane of the roof structure of buildings or for construction thereof directly onto the roof membrane of a building structure. The air-conditioning condensate drainage system is defined by one or more strips of material having an isolation membrane having a bottom surface for assembly to a roof membrane. A pair of spaced ridge elements project upwardly from the isolation membrane and cooperate with the isolation membrane to define an air-conditioning condensate drainage channel. In the alternative, ridge strips may be disposed in spaced relation and fixed directly to a roof membrane to define condensate drain channels along the roof membrane to in-roof drains. The condensate drain strip or ridge strips maybe molded or extruded and maybe formed directly on and adhered to or fixed to the roof membrane to define the condensate drain channels.

  • Publication number: 20020082071
Abstract: An online game of chance and methods of conducting and playing the game on a virtual instant ticket are disclosed. The game is based on a map having multiple branches and nodes, where a desired path is selected by clicking on the branch or node as play progresses between a starting point and multiple finishing points. Each available branch or node that is selected results in a prize value being increased, decreased, or a token being awarded for later use in the game. In a single player mode, a final prize is awarded to the player. In multiple player modes, the final prize is divided among the players according to predetermined criteria.

  • Patent number: 5490783
Abstract: A flight simulator is disclosed which includes active electronic display controls. A simulated cockpit area is provided which includes a visual display screen for depicting a simulated cockpit viewpoint. A simulated instrument panel is provided within the cockpit area by means of a cathode ray tube display device and an overlying bezel which defines the perimeter of at least one displayed instrument face within the cathode ray tube display device. A rotary switch which includes a rotary encoder having an output indicative of a direction of rotation and an amount of rotation is then mounted within the bezel. Outputs from the rotary switch are then coupled to electronic circuitry which is utilized to selectively vary the displayed instrument face within the cathode ray tube display device, providing a realistic representation of an actual flight instrument.

  • Patent number: 5344717
Abstract: A method of brazing and apparatus therefor wherein two elements are bonded together using pre-formed fillet material. In accordance with a first alternative embodiment, the pre-formed fillet material comprises a depression formed on a first surface of one of the elements by a punching operation. The preformed fillet material also comprises a protrusion formed on a second surface opposite the depression formed by the punching operation. The invention also comprises a method of reducing bending stress in a Coriolis flow tube by bonding the flow tube and a brace bar with preformed fillet material.

  • Patent number: 4887308
Abstract: An information storage and retrieval system is disclosed herein having a primary information storage for broadcast information that is selected and encoded for constant broadcast transmission. Such information may take the form of musical compositions including title, composer, artist data and the like. An emergency transmission network selectively transmits pre-set emergency information or data. A receiver is employed to receive both broadcast and emergency transmissions and decode the information for presentation on a visual display with emergency display superseding the broadcast display. A broadcast data hold and recall manual buttons are employed to store desired data in a memory and to subsequently recall such data at the command of the listener.

  • Patent number: 4882473
Abstract: An on-line wagering system with programmable game entry cards including cards having on-card data storage for value tokens and data uniquely related to the player and including cards with on-card data storage for operator security data. The player cards are operable as payment means in which the tokens are spent and as play validation and play entry means in lieu of mark sense slips and printed validation receipts. Demographic player data uniquely related to the owner of the card is stored on the card and possibly in the central wagering system memory. This allows correlation of play entries with player demographics. The operator cards are operable to associate every transaction with an individual operator for the purpose of enhancing transaction security. A plurality of agent terminals in data communication with the central data processor interface between the central processor and the player cards.

  • Patent number: 4724307
Abstract: A reader for cards having handwritten marks positioned to encode data, is provided with an image recorder for capturing an instantaneous image of the possible mark-bearing area of the card, including the handwritten marks and identification marks printed on the card. A data processor digitizes the data to a matrix of pixels representing grey levels at spaced points in the image. Digital means are provided to locate the identifcation marks and define the expected mark areas of the image field while accounting for positioning error such as skew, and to map the image field into potential mark-bearing areas. A comparator then compares the grey levels at successive pixels or groups of pixels in the mark areas with immediate adjacent pixels or groups, thereby detecting marks by finding contrasting edges. The identification marks printed on the card can be variable in type or position to provide for separate game cards. The reader is adaptable to be reprogrammed for additional games and functions.
