    Abstract: A method of enhancing on-board state estimation for a spacecraft utilizes a network of assets to include planetary-based assets and space-based assets. Communication signals transmitted from each of the assets into space are defined by a common protocol. Data is embedded in each communication signal transmitted by the assets. The data includes a time-of-transmission for a corresponding one of the communication signals and a position of a corresponding one of the assets at the time-of-transmission. A spacecraft is equipped to receive the communication signals, has a clock synchronized to the space-wide time reference frame, and has a processor programmed to generate state estimates of the spacecraft. Using its processor, the spacecraft determines a one-dimensional range from itself to at least one of the assets and then updates its state estimates using each one-dimensional range.

    Abstract: An energy detection method is provided. The method obtains an initial time point of an input signal with reference to a digital signal corresponding to the input signal. An ith sample value is obtained by sampling the digital signal. The (i?M?N+1)th to the (i?N)th sample values and the (i?N+1)th to the ith sample value are buffered. The weighting coefficient is set to with initial value. A first parameter is obtained according to the weighting coefficient and the (i?M?N+1)th to the (i?N)th sample values, and a second parameter is obtained according to the (i?N+1)th to the ith sample values. A comparison between the first parameter and the second parameter is made, and the sampling time point of the (i?N+1)th sample value is determined as the signal initial time point when the second parameter is greater than the first parameter.

The signal processing unit has K precoders for precoding K data streams corresponding to K receiving terminals. The MS RF units output MS up-converted transmit signals based on the precoded K data streams. The switch unit is coupled between the RF units and the transmit antennas and controlled by the signal processing unit for selection of the transmit antennas. The signal processing unit sets the MT transmit antennas as a universal set, calculates a plurality of sum rates corresponding to a plurality of subsets, each subset excluding an ith transmit antenna, according to channel state information, selects the subset with a maximum sum rate as the universal set of a next iteration, and then repeats the calculating and selecting steps until the subset with the maximum sum rate remaining MS transmit antennas.
