  • Patent number: 10415268
Abstract: Cargo locks are general massive, virtually armor plate grade materials, cables, tags, etc. hung on the outside of any configuration of cargo containers, enclosed cargo trucks, vans, semi-trailers, boxcars, etc. A few internal cargo area lock systems have been offered but are cost prohibitive, massive and not practical for other than a stationary installation. This makes them impractical for cargo containers, boxcars, and most semi-trailers because they are rarely re-used by the same party who invested in an elaborate “stationary” lock system. In a further development of U.S. Pat. No. 9,683,394, virtually anyone can install this flexible Lock Mechanism and Electronic Control (LM&EC) and achieve a secured cargo area by making all locks inaccessible from the outside. Similarly, the LM&EC system can be readily removed for reuse elsewhere or its access and control components modified to adapt to the reuse application or improve security for the present application.

  • Patent number: 10394835
Abstract: A method and system for providing a rapid access data aggregation information source having a contact portal for rapidly connecting to single or multiple information resources, e.g., databases or retrieval portals, in order to provide owner approved access to various types of remotely readable, addressable, and/or interaction-capable information resources. A focal intention of the data aggregation system is to provide rapid response support through a contact point for locating and contacting a specific database, potentially among a multitude of databases, which holds specific information, located mainly by its type, characteristics, or generic category such as but not limited to medical/health coverage details, medical records, legal documents, estate details, etc.

  • Patent number: 9683394
Abstract: A simplified locking and mounting execution methods for protecting high-value cargo enclosed in a container, while maintaining the container indistinguishable from similar low value shipments, including an OnBoard Identity Module (OBIM) providing lock and unlock actuation activities for the Internal Locking Mechanism (ILM), both of which are externally undetectable. The OBIM interacts with a Securing Rod or similar securing feature which engages one or more container components in a manner preventing the container from being opened until a properly encoded unlocking signal is sent to the locking system via wireless methods from a remote point directing the OBIM to actuate again to unlock the container. This simplified locking mechanism provides components of a size suitable for repeated use, removal, transport, and reuse elsewhere over-and-over or cost effective solutions suitable for single use disposable applications.

  • Patent number: 8756248
Abstract: A method and system for providing a rapid access data aggregation information source having a single contact portal for multiple information resources that supports law enforcement/emergency response (LE/ER) agencies in order to provide the access to data elements (both constant and transient) belonging to mobile entities, including but not limited to vehicles such as cars, trucks, tractors, buses, motorcycles, boats, airplanes, RVs and others. A focal intention of the data aggregation system is to provide rapid response support through a single contact point for information delivery to LE/ER agencies in the shortest possible time.

  • Patent number: 8441336
Abstract: A system for protecting high-value cargo enclosed in a container, while maintaining the container indistinguishable from similar low value shipments, includes an onboard identity module (OBIM) cooperative with an internal locking mechanism (ILM), both of which are externally undetectable. The OBIM can secure the ILM and prevent the container from being opened until a properly encoded unlocking signal from a Security Management System (SMS) is wirelessly received by the OBIM. The unlocking signal can be a composite including a plurality of species of wireless signals such as different frequencies of AM and FM encoded RF and acoustic signals, transmitted simultaneously and/or at specified intervals. In embodiments the OBIM enables remote tracking of the container, and in some embodiments the tracking is double-blind, whereby a Master Number (MN) recorded in shipping documents is associated with a “Random Number” (RN) used for tracking, the association being known only to the SMS.

  • Publication number: 20100264728
Abstract: A system and method for detecting tampering and/or sabotage of a mobile entity obtains initial identity identifying information from a plurality of elements, such as a driver, a vehicle, an item of cargo, and a travel route and/or schedule. A composite onboard identity (“COBI”) is assigned to the mobile entity and is used to retrieve the initial identifying information after the entity arrives at a destination. Final identifying information is then obtained and compared with the initial information, thereby detecting unauthorized changes which indicate tampering or sabotage. Identifying information can also be compared at checkpoints en route. The identifying information can be manually or automatically supplied, and can be wirelessly communicated to a verifying authority. In some embodiments, upon verification failure, an onboard electronic unit can disable the vehicle by stopping the motor, locking the steering wheel, sounding the horn, flashing the lights, and/or applying the brakes.

  • Patent number: 7525435
Abstract: A method and system for securing, protecting and controlling defined areas by managing access points for entering and exiting vehicles or mobile entities, and matching entering vehicle or mobile entity identification information with exiting identification information. This may include obtaining and storing a unique onboard signature and/or physical characteristics from entering vehicles or mobile entities for matching with the identity information obtained from exiting vehicles or mobile entities. In addition a paper or electronic Ticket/Tag may be encoded with the entering identification information and issued to an agent of the entering vehicle or mobile entity for later presentation at exiting, whereby a three-way matching of exiting, entering, and Ticket/Tag information must be satisfied for the vehicle or mobile entity to be released from the controlled area.
