  • Patent number: 6954272
Abstract: A transparent plate with fiducials for aligning and placing of dies on a panel with a high degree of accuracy is disclosed. The locations of the fiducials correspond to desired die locations. The transparent plate is arranged beneath the panel, with the fiducials aligned with cavities formed in the panel. The cavities have transparent bottoms. A die alignment mark on a die residing over the panel is used to establish the position of the die. Imaging a fiducial associated with a cavity is used to center the die with respect to the cavity. Accurate placement of the fiducials is accomplished by electron-beam lithography.

  • Patent number: 5747153
Abstract: Glass objects and glazed ceramic objects have a durable thin lustruous coating of a flux-free and frit-free inorganic based luster pigment particles. An application method comprises initially applying the pigment particles to a surface of the glass or ceramic object at a level of from about 0.1 gram to about one gram per square foot and then heating the surface to a temperature and for a time sufficient to fix the luster pigment particles directly to the surface. The resultant lustrous coating is less than about 25 microns in thickness.

  • Patent number: 5366763
Abstract: An application method for flux-free, frit-free luster pigments based on inorganic platelet-like particles with at least one metal oxide surface coating comprises initially applying the pigments to a vitreous surface such as a vitreous enamel on a metal substrate, a vitreous glaze on a ceramic substrate, glass, or an overglaze on a glass, enameled metal or glazed ceramic substrate. The vitreous surface is in a fused or unfused state prior to the luster pigment application. The luster pigment is surface applied to the vitreous surface. Next, the surface is heated to a temperature and for a time sufficient to fix the luster pigments to the surface.

  • Patent number: 5036609
Abstract: A quilting border hoop which utilizes an elongated support rod upon which are mounted first and second U-shaped members with these members to be located in an aligned overlapping position forming a narrow gap therebetween. The outer U-shaped member includes an adjusting block assembly which when operated will vary the width of the narrow gap. A fabric strip is secured to the support rod. The quilt is to be attached to this fabric strip and then clamped between the U-shaped members to tightly bind in position the quilt facilitating sewing on the quilt. Where the U-shaped members are connected to the support rod, there is connected between the ends of the U-shaped members spacers so as to pre-establish the width of the narrow gap.
