Patent number: 12004306Abstract: A method of manufacturing a printed circuit board (PCB) includes forming a tridimensional (3D) dielectric substrate on a fiber-reinforced polymer with opposite sides; forming each side with channels and pockets by molding dielectric laminate, and the channels and pockets define a layout for conductive traces and pads of the PCB; forming the channels and pockets in a same side of the 3D dielectric substrate at a uniform depth; forming side walls of the channels and pockets of the 3D dielectric substrate with a draft angle in a range of greater than 0 degrees to about 5 degrees; depositing by electrolytic metallization the conductive traces and pads into the channels and pockets of the 3D dielectric substrate; and the outer surface of those conductive traces and pads are flush with the sides of the 3D dielectric substrate.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2023Date of Patent: June 4, 2024Assignee: INFINITUM ELECTRIC INC.Inventors: Edward C. Patent number: 10772666Abstract: A bone plate locking cannula and drill guide assembly having a locking cannula detachably mountable onto screw-receiving apertures of a bone plate and a drill guide received within the locking cannula such that pilot holes are drilled through the apertures into bone at the proper angle to receive bone screws. The screw receiving apertures have a proximal bore of greater diameter than a distal bore, and the proximal bore is provided with internal threading to mate with external threading located on the distal end of the locking cannula. The bone screws are inserted through the locking cannula after removal of the drill guide and fastened into the bone to secure the bone plate in position without having to remove the locking cannulas from the bone plate, the internal diameter of the locking cannula bore being greater than the maximum diameter of the screw heads. The locking cannula is detached from the bone plate after the bone plate has been secured in place on the bone.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2018Date of Patent: September 15, 2020Assignee: KLS-MARTIN, L.P.Inventors: Thomas S. Johnston, Jr., Jennifer C. Pinto

Publication number: 20140379027Abstract: A surgical construct having a flexible strand with a middle region and at least two opposing tail regions that are spliced to form a single tail. The middle region has a first diameter and the opposing tail regions have a second diameter, which is smaller than the first diameter. The tail regions may have similar or different diameters. Because of the thin spliced tail regions, the suturing construct of the present invention can be easily inserted into suture/tape passing and retrieving instruments and passed through soft tissue (such as a rotator cuff). Once the suturing construct has been passed through tissue, the splice may be cut to allow the suture/tape to have again individual tails.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2014Publication date: December 25, 2014Inventors: Peter J. Dreyfuss, Mark C. Pinto

Publication number: 20080188253Abstract: A wireless communication system experience interference from other wireless communication networks. A method for designing wireless communication systems subject to interference is proposed based on a realistic interference model which accounts for the propagation effects introduced by the wireless environment (such as path loss, shadowing, and multipath fading), and for the spatial scattering of transmitters (using a Poisson field). The method accounts for tradeoffs between network parameters, such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), interference-to-noise ratio (INR), path loss exponent, spatial density of the interferers, and error probability. Advantages of this method include: 1) a unified framework for designing a wireless system, subject to cumulative interference and noise, incorporating a wide range of performance metrics; and 2) a general application that covers a broad class of wireless communication systems and channel fading distributions.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2008Publication date: August 7, 2008Inventors: Chia-Chin Chong, Pedro C. Pinto, Moe Z. Win, Fujio Watanabe, Hiroshi Inamura

Publication number: 20080186842Abstract: A wireless communication system and a detect-and-multiplex (DAM) spectrum sharing technique eliminate contention by secondary spectrum users by multiplexing multiple access methods. Suitable multiple access methods include time division multiple access (TDMA), frequency division multiple access (FDMA), code division multiple access (CDMA), space division multiple access (SDMA), orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), spectral nulling (SN) or a hybrid scheme (HS) based on a combination of two or more of the above techniques. Unlike, detect-and-avoid (DAA) multiple access methods, the DAM method increases spectrum usage efficiency, and allows more users to share the same region of the spectrum.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2008Publication date: August 7, 2008Inventors: Chia-Chin Chong, Pedro C. Pinto, Moe Z. Win, Fujio Watanabe, Hiroshi Inamura

Publication number: 20060048937Abstract: A signature element is attached to a downhole cable or other protected equipment and the signal from a signature position detector is used, at least in part, to control the orientation of a directed perforating device or other directional device. Signal emitting sources can include a radioactive material added to an encapsulating composition of a downhole cable.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2004Publication date: March 9, 2006Inventors: C. Patent number: 4491308Abstract: A pair of horizontally elongated support structures is provided for supporting a horizontal panel member from opposite marginal edges thereof. The support structures each include an elongated horizontal member defining a central area for abutting, extending along and removable anchoring to one marginal edge of an associated panel member and upper and lower opposite marginal edges disposed above and below the central area thereof and the opposite marginal edges define a ridge extending along one marginal edge and a groove or trough extending along the other marginal edge. Accordingly, when the support structures are used in pairs of support structures with each pair supporting a horizontal door or other panel between the central areas thereof the ridges and troughs of vertically stacked support structures may be engaged with each other in order to support the panel members in horizontal, vertically spaced and stacked relation.Type: GrantFiled: November 3, 1982Date of Patent: January 1, 1985Inventors: Robert N. Walton, Ralph C. Pinto
