  • Patent number: 4519926
Abstract: Polyborate ester compositions are prepared by reacting ortho-boric acid with at least one alcohol or phenol in a substantially inert organic liquid, which is immiscible with water and has a boiling point in the range from about 80.degree. to about 300.degree. C. at standard pressure, and by continuously removing the water which is produced by the reaction.

  • Patent number: 4170562
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the Mannich condensation reaction of oxidized olefinic polymers. The condensation reaction is carried out in the presence of about 0.01 to 25.0 weight percent of an oil soluble phenol based on the neat polymer. The phenols improve the processing and properties of the oxidized oil soluble Mannich reaction product.

    Filed: February 15, 1978
Date of Patent: October 9, 1979
    Assignee: Standard Oil Company
    Inventor: C. Thomas West
  • Patent number: 4131553
Abstract: This invention provides a process for and products of the Mannich condensation reaction of oxidized olefinic polymers. The Mannich reaction is carried out in the presence of about 0.01 to 40.0% by weight of an oil soluble sulfonic acid based on the neat polymer. The sulfonic acid improves the properties of the oxidized oil soluble Mannich reaction product and catalyzes the Mannich condensation reaction.
