  • Publication number: 20120041887
Abstract: An arrangement for enabling an acting party, e.g. a natural person or an automatic inspection line, to retrieve information from a product (150), e.g. for genuineness verification, includes an optical device (102) for optically receiving auxiliary information from the product, a processing system (103) for retrieving instruction data from a database (104) on the basis of the auxiliary information, and a data interface (105) for delivering the instruction data to the acting party for enabling the acting party to retrieve the information. In the genuineness verification application, the verification is provided with two separate components. A first component resides in the auxiliary information on the surface of the product and a second component resides in the instruction data. The division of the genuineness verification into the two components makes it more difficult for a counterfeit manufacturer to analyze the counterfeit protection and to follow changes in the counterfeit protection.

  • Publication number: 20070183652
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting a code (40), and a mobile station adapted to the method. In the method, the mobile station (50) is used to capture an image of the subject (40) and the image is analysed and decoded into a numerical form in the mobile station (50). According to the invention, before the decoding of the bar code in the mobile station the edges of the subject (40) are determined from a high-resolution image, in the case of a 2D code, the location of the corner point of the subject (49) are estimated on the basis of adaptive thresholding, and in the case of a 2D code, a perspective transformation is formed.

  • Patent number: 6556217
Abstract: A system, method and computer program for paginating information received from a content provider so that it may be displayed on any type of user terminal having any size screen and having different types of mechanisms for input of information. This system has a pagination and terminal adaptation module which will calculate the space needed by element to be displayed on a user terminal. The pagination and terminal adaptation module will then determine if sufficient space exits on the user terminal screen to display the element. When sufficient space does not exist on the user terminal screen then the pagination and terminal adaptation module will resize the element when possible in order to make it fit. The pagination and terminal adaptation module accesses a database of user terminal profile information to determine the characteristics of the user terminal as well as the screen size.

  • Publication number: 20020035730
Abstract: The problem with transferring a multicast service to a television environment, or other environment without a return connection, is how the service provider receives the information about receivers willing to receive the service and how the multicast router can query the receiver sets as to whether they want to receive. The problem is solved by choosing one of the servers within the scope of influence of the querying multicast router to be an order server. The receiver sets, without return connections, notify the server of the services they want to receive, and likewise notify when they no longer want to receive the service. The notifications to the server can be made via a modem connection through a fixed network, for instance using a Web form. The next time the server makes the query about receivers willing to receive the service, the order server will reply on behalf of the receiver set.

  • Publication number: 20020034179
Abstract: The problem with transferring an IP packets to another network environment without a return connection, is addressed, by transforming the IP data packets into an alternative addressing form such as Conditional Access (CA). Another aspect of the invention allows for extending an IP network by tunneling or forwarding of IP packets, and preferably multicast service packets within a CA transport mechanism. The disclosure further discloses a method and apparatus for utilizing the method as means of providing IP multicast service data via unidirectional television broadcast system.
