Patent number: 11449154Abstract: There is disclosed a multi-dimensional user interface controller apparatus for providing a multi-dimensional user input. In an embodiment, the apparatus comprises a disc adapted to be tilted to control at least two-axes, and depressible in a third axis, and an outer ring surrounding the disc, the outer ring adapted to rotate about the disc to control a fourth axis. In use, the disc and the outer ring are controllable to provide at least four-axes of simultaneous control inputs. In an embodiment, the multi-dimensional user interface controller apparatus further comprises a plurality of magnetic sensors to sense the tilt of the disc or a press on the disc. In another embodiment, the disc further comprises a touch-sensitive top surface adapted to sense one or more fingers touching the surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2020Date of Patent: September 20, 2022Assignee: GRANT & UNION INC.Inventors: Calvin Chu, Sirui Wang, Zhan Yong Qi, Andrew Joseph John Hayes, Ioan Romulus Curticapean

Patent number: 11304340Abstract: The disclosed computer cooling system includes a liquid immersion cooling tank configured as a server chassis with an integrated power bus, control bus and data bus. The server chassis tank receives and services a plurality of modular blades including disaggregated single server components dedicated to similar functions and resembling a beekeeper's box of vertical and spaced operation, insertion and extraction. The modular blades include at least one management blade, interfaces and peripherals blade, storage blade, CPU blade and one or more GPU blades and other processors. Each blade configures hottest operating components lowest in a heat flow via transverse mounted brackets and vented ends. A blade extraction mechanism includes movable winches for manipulating the plurality of modular blades from a top side of the heat flow and a hydraulic lift for pushing each modular blade from a bottom of the heat flow out of the liquid immersion cooling tank.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2021Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Inventors: Robert C V Chen, Calvin Chu, Dennis Dantog Ignacio, Shankar Kesavan, Vincent Quan Hoang, Arvind Bhargava

Patent number: 10013051Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a modular apparatus and system for providing customized, reconfigurable user inputs. In an aspect, there is provided a modular apparatus comprising a plurality of reconfigurable Input Modules with different types of user inputs, such as buttons, sliders, knobs, joysticks, trackballs, touch pads, touch screens, and other types of user interfaces. The Input Modules may be physically interconnected to a Master Module which is adapted to communicate with each Input Module and to a System Controller Application running on a connected computing device. The Input Modules are reconfigurable into any number of different physical layouts. The Master Module determines the physical layout of the connected Input Modules, and communicates the layout to the System Controller Application. The function of each Input Module is then programmed via the System Controller Application and the Master Module for performing specific functions in a compatible computer application.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2017Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Assignee: GRANT & UNION INC.Inventors: Calvin Chu, Ashok Parth Davé, Shadab Ui Rashid, Fred Ting, Ray Zhou

Publication number: 20180117479Abstract: A smart toy is provided. The smart toy includes a housing forming a zoomorphic shell for housing internal components. The smart toy also includes a microphone for receiving an audio signal from a child and a speaker for playing a responsive audio signal to the child. The smart toy further includes an actuator button and a microprocessor for establishing a voice call with a remote server when the actuator button is pressed. The microprocessor processes the audio signal received from the child and sends the audio signal to the remote server. The remote server processes the audio signal using a dialog engine and a knowledge database to generate the responsive audio signal which is tailored to the child and responsive to the audio signal. The remote server sends the responsive audio signal to the microprocessor to be played to the child.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2017Publication date: May 3, 2018Applicant: Elemental Path, Inc.Inventors: Donald Coolidge, John Paul Benini, Sean O'Shea, Arthur Tu, Jessica Cohen, Mark Garcia, Tinashe Musonza, Shane Tierney, Calvin Chu
