  • Patent number: 11351095
Abstract: The combination of polyols with certain active ingredients has been found to mitigate the potential irritating nature of some active ingredients (e.g., hydroxy acids, etc.). When applied to lips, this combination may provide for therapeutic and/or cosmetic benefits including smoother lips, increased moisturization, reduced water loss and combinations thereof. However, formulating stable emulsions with certain active ingredients has proved problematic. The present application also provides new stabilization mechanisms for the emulsions involving alteration of the extensional viscosity of the internal phase.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 12, 2019
Date of Patent: June 7, 2022
    Assignee: Avon Products, Inc.
Inventors: Ashley L. Hutson, Candice DeLeo Novack

  • Patent number: 9585820
Abstract: The invention relates generally to formulations having one or more ingredients segregated from other constituents of the same formulation. The formulations are typically for topical application to an integument.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 2014
Date of Patent: March 7, 2017
    Assignee: Avon Products, Inc.
Inventors: Michael A. Lull, Ashley L. Howell, Candice DeLeo Novack
  • Publication number: 20160263010
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to topical compositions and methods of using the compositions to treat keratin fibers. The compositions, such as mascaras, can form films of low resiliency on the surface of the keratin fibers, which impart moldability to the treated fibers, thereby enhancing the range of styling effects and options available to the user.
