  • Patent number: 11960683
Abstract: A display system for sensing a finger of a user applied to the display system includes a display panel; a sensor for sensing the finger; a sensing light source configured to emit a first light having a first wavelength W1; and a reflective polarizer disposed between the display panel and the sensor. For a substantially normally incident light, an optical transmittance of the reflective polarizer versus wavelength for a first polarization state has a band edge such that for a first wavelength range extending from a smaller wavelength L1 to a greater wavelength L2 and including W1, where 30 nm?L2?L1?50 nm and L1 is greater than and within about 20 nm of a wavelength L3 corresponding to an optical transmittance of about 50% along the band edge, the optical transmittance has an average of greater than about 75%.

  • Publication number: 20240108899
Abstract: Neuromodulation devices and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. Various embodiments of the present technology relate to devices, systems, and methods for delivering electrical energy to a hypoglossal nerve of a patient. According to some embodiments, the present technology includes an implantable neuromodulation device comprising an electronics package, a branched lead body, and an extension portion between the electronics package and lead body. The lead body can comprise a first arm with first conductive elements and a second arm with second conductive elements. The lead body can be configured to be positioned between a patient's genioglossus and geniohyoid muscles such that the first arm and first conductive elements are positioned proximate one of the patient's hypoglossal nerves and the second arm and second conductive elements are positioned proximate a contralateral one of the patient's hypoglossal nerves.

  • Publication number: 20140145449
Abstract: A counter rotating generator apparatus for converting wind energy into electricity is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an upper turbine rotatable in a first direction and a lower turbine rotatable in the opposite direction oriented along a vertical access. The upper turbine comprises a magnetic element, and the lower turbine comprises a counter poised magnetic element. The magnetic element interacts with the counter poised magnet to counteract at least a portion of the weight of the upper turbine increasing the efficiency of the counter rotating generator apparatus. A second set of counter poised magnets near the bottom of the lower turbine shaft will also counteract at least a portion of the weight of the lower turbine.
