Abstract: Systems for providing a virtual user environment are disclosed. One such system includes an environment server that includes a memory configured to store a plurality of data blocks and a programmable circuit operatively connected to the memory. The programmable circuit is configured to execute program instructions which, when executed, cause the user computing system to receive profile definition data from a user computing device, the profile definition data including a manifest of software associated with a user, and select a plurality of data blocks for return to the user computing device that are included in a definition of a virtual user environment included in the manifest for delivery to the user computing device.

Abstract: A user computing system configured to host a virtual user environment is disclosed. The system includes a local memory configured to store a plurality of data blocks and a programmable circuit operatively connected to the local memory. The programmable circuit is configured to execute program instructions to cause the user computing system to manage profile definition data including a manifest of software associated with a user, and host a virtual user environment on the device, the virtual user environment including executable instructions specific to the user computing system and constructed from data blocks stored in the local memory, the virtual user environment including a plurality of application programs and settings defined in the manifest.

Abstract: Methods and systems for forming a user environment on a computing device are disclosed. One method includes transmitting, from a computing system to an environment server, profile definition data including a manifest of software, a user identifier, and one or more claims. The method also includes receiving, from the environment server, a plurality of blocks of data for storage in a memory of the computing system, the plurality of blocks of data defining a user environment operable at the computing device, the user environment described by the profile definition data and at least partially formed from one or more of the system software blocks.
