  • Patent number: 7741408
Abstract: A novel flooring composition was developed based on a blend comprising: a) an elastomer; b) a random propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer; c) a cross linking agent; and optionally d) a melt strength enhancing polymer. This composition achieves a unique balance of properties, exhibiting often-conflicting performance requirements. These include low gloss and excellent pattern duplication in embossing, low modulus, minimal odor, excellent grain acceptance and abrasion resistance, while remaining thermoformable and maintaining minimal shift in viscosity during recycle.

  • Patent number: 5407000
Abstract: An automatic handling system is described for delivering a molten metal, such as magnesium or magnesium alloys, to a casting machine. The handling system comprises a programmable logic controller (PLC) for monitoring and controlling the sequential delivery of shots of a precise quantity of molten metal from a furnace or holding pot to a shot delivery apparatus of the casting machine. In the preferred system, the PLC also monitors and/or controls the temperatures of the molten metal in the holding pot and in a metal transfer system, the operation of a pump for pumping molten metal from the holding pot to the shot delivery apparatus, and the level of metal in the pot, and the operation of the the casting machine.

  • Patent number: 4901288
Abstract: A small sonobuoy for dropping without a parachute and quickly deploying hydrophones is cylindrical and adapted to float with its axis parallel to the water. The hydrophone cable is wrapped around the housing so that the housing rotates as the cable is payed out. The antenna is also wrapped around the housing and is released after the cable is fully deployed. A retainer covering the coiled cable and the stored hydrophones is held in place by a releasable pin which is released by an electrical device activated by a sea water sensitive switch. The device heats a resistor which melts a lanyard which releases the pin.
