    Abstract: A system and method for distributed custody access token management that can include applying a key aggregation function to create a combinatorial association between a primary key and a plurality of subkeys, wherein the combinatorial association allows for the determination of the primary key from the plurality of subkeys; determining recovery or derived keys based on the set of subkeys, wherein the recovery key is capable of regenerating at least one subkey provided another subkey from the set of subkeys; establishing the set of subkeys at a plurality of control devices; and reconstituting the primary key and performing primary key cryptographic operations based on receipt, from the control devices, of a qualifying combination the set of subkeys and the recovery key.
