  • Publication number: 20190020373
Abstract: A single-ended data transmission system transmits a signal having a signal voltage that is referenced to a power supply voltage and that swings above and below the power supply voltage. The power supply voltage is coupled to a power supply rail that also serves as a signal return path. The signal voltage is derived from two signal supply voltages generated by a pair of charge pumps that draw substantially same amount of current from a power supply.

  • Patent number: 10177749
Abstract: In an integrated-circuit component having a signal transmitter receives a transmitter power supply that cycles periodically between power-off and power-on voltage levels to define a sequence of enable intervals during which the signal transmitter is to output voltage levels corresponding to respective transmit data bits onto an external signaling link. The signal transmitter generates, at the start of each output-enable interval, an initial nonzero voltage having a first polarity across conductors of the external signaling link, and then conditionally transitions the initial nonzero voltage to a second nonzero voltage according to whether the transmit data bit corresponding to the output-enable interval has a predetermined one of two binary states, the second nonzero voltage having a polarity opposite the first polarity.

  • Publication number: 20180168070
Abstract: The embodiments herein describe technologies of cryogenic digital systems with a first component located in a first cryogenic temperature domain and a second component located in a second cryogenic temperature domain that is lower in temperature than the first cryogenic temperature domain. An electrical conductor is coupled between the first component and the second component along a first plane. The electrical conductor carries a signal between the first component and the second component. A cooling assembly is coupled to a segment of the electrical conductor. The cooling assembly may include an electrical insulator including ceramic material. The cooling assembly may include a cold plate, two cold plates, or an orthogonal cold strip.

  • Patent number: 9998305
Abstract: An integrated circuit device includes an output driver having a data signal terminal, logic circuitry, and a driver circuit coupled to the logic circuitry and data signal terminal. The driver circuit is configured to drive a signal corresponding to a symbol onto the data signal terminal, wherein the symbol is an N-bit symbol, having one of 2N predefined values, N is an integer greater than 1, and the signal corresponding to the symbol has one of 2N signal levels. The driver circuit includes first, second and third driver sub-circuits, each driven by an input corresponding to one or more bits of the N-bit symbol, wherein the second and third driver sub-circuits are weighted, relative to the first driver sub-circuit, to reduce gds distortion in the signal.

  • Publication number: 20170293575
Abstract: A first non-volatile memory may store first data and a second non-volatile memory may store second data. An authentication component may be coupled with the first non-volatile memory and the second non-volatile memory and may receive a request to perform an authentication operation. In response to the request to perform the authentication operation, the authentication component may access the first data stored at the first non-volatile memory and the second data stored at the second non-volatile memory and determine whether the second data stored at the second non-volatile memory has become unreliable based on a memory disturbance condition. In response to determining that the second data stored at the second non-volatile memory has become unreliable, a corrective action associated with the first data stored at the first non-volatile memory may be performed.

  • Patent number: 9531447
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that performs channel-sounding operations in a multi-antenna wireless communication system. During operation, the system first performs channel-sounding operations between a first client and a second client in a first frequency band. These channel-sounding operations involve transmitting a series of known tones between the first client and the second client and using signals received as a result of the transmissions to finds a strongest path between the first client and the second client. Next, the system uses the identified strongest path to improve channel-sounding operations in a second frequency band.

  • Patent number: 8903031
Abstract: A clock recovery circuit includes a first phase detector for measuring the phase difference between a first clock signal from a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) and a data signal. A phase shifter responsive to a control signal based on this phase difference adjusts the phase of an incoming clock signal to yield a second clock signal. The phase difference between the first clock signal and the second clock signal is measured and the resulting signal is low-pass filtered to derive a control signal for controlling the VCO. The phase locked loop including the VCO filters out jitter.

  • Patent number: 8795082
Abstract: A gaming system is disclosed comprising a console unit having a processor and transceiver circuitry. The transceiver circuitry couples to the processor and includes respective receiver and transmitter circuits. A first phased array antenna interface is employed to transmit and receive directional signals in response to the processor. The system employs a mobile game controller including a second phased array antenna interface to receive and redirect the directional signals back to the first phased array antenna interface. The processor generates proximity data based at least in part on a parameter associated with the directional signals, the proximity data representing the proximity of the mobile game controller with respect to the game console unit.
