  • Patent number: 4699577
Abstract: A gerotor device wherein a body (10) includes high pressure ports (20) that communicate with an inlet (12) and low pressure ports (22) that communicate with an outlet (14). An inner member (42) and an outer member (40) cooperate to define pressure chambers (52) that increase and decrease in volume as the member (42) orbits and rotates. A rotary valve (62) selectively connects pressure chambers (52) to pressure ports (20) and (22) to convert between mechanical torque and fluid pressure. Cavities (75) and (77) are provided adjacent rotary valve (62) to hydraulically balance the valve.

  • Patent number: 4586885
Abstract: A compact hydraulic motor 10 in which a pressurized sleeve bearing 20 is coaxial with a commutator 16, all positioned in the output housing 14. The commutator housing provides fluids to a rotary valve plate 48 and to chambers 52 formed between rotating inner member 30 and orbiting outer member 32. The sleeve bearing 20 is pressurized with fluid from the gear set 30, 32 and is in fluid communication with a rear needle bearing 24. The seals are protected from overpressurization through channels 25 and 46 and pressurization valves. In an alternate embodiment of the invention, dual gear sets 80, 82, and 81, 83, (FIG. 7) are positioned within a housing for either series or parallel operation. Fluid directed to the two gear sets by a manifold 112 can run the gear sets in parallel or series in order to provide either high speed low torque or low speed high torque operation.

  • Patent number: 4563136
Abstract: A hydraulic torque motor and more particularly a hydraulic torque motor 10 of the internally generated rotor family having a rotatable inner rotor 24 and an orbital outer rotor 26 and which includes an improved rotary valve means 66 for the delivery and exhaust of hydraulic pressure fluid thereto and therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4545748
Abstract: A rotary fluid displacing pump or motor in which the inner gear orbits about a fixed motor shaft axis within an outer gear and the inwardly extending gear teeth of the outer member have non-sealing portions not in contact with corresponding portions on the outwardly extending teeth of the inner gear. Variable volume chambers formed between the gear teeth are fluidly coupled to inlet and outlet fluid passageways at appropriately timed intervals by a rotary disc having radially spaced ports which rotate past inlet and outlet ports on a fixed commutator. The rotary disc abuts a planar face of the orbiting inner gear and rotates about the fixed central axis.
