  • Publication number: 20230355002
Abstract: An adjustable bed system includes a mattress and an adjustment mechanism. The mattress includes a head portion and a foot portion rearward of the head portion. The head portion defines a cavity that is downwardly open. The adjustment mechanism includes a lower base, an upper support that is movably coupled to the lower base, and an actuator operable to move the upper support relative to the lower base. The adjustment mechanism is positioned in the cavity and is coupled to the mattress. When the actuator is operated, the adjustment mechanism moves the adjustable bed system between a flat configuration in which the head portion is substantially coplanar with the foot portion and an inclined configuration in which the head portion is inclined relative to the foot portion.

  • Patent number: 11730275
Abstract: A leg cover for a bed leg having a plurality of leg segments incorporates a plurality of cover segments each having matching length with a length of a corresponding leg segment. Each cover segment has a longitudinal separation, an upper circumferential separation and a lower circumferential separation. The leg cover is adapted to be separated at the circumferential separations to match a reduced length of the segmented leg if one or more leg segments is removed.

  • Publication number: 20230248154
Abstract: An adjustable bed has a mattress with a plurality of carry straps attached to an underside of the mattress proximate side edges, a foot end edge and a head end edge. An adjustable foundation has articulating support panels including an upper body support rotatably attached to a seat support section, a thigh support panel rotatably attached the seat support section and a lower leg support panel rotatably attached to the thigh support panel. At least one clip is attached proximate an edge of at least one of the support panels, the at least one clip configured to engage a mating one of the carry straps on the mattress.

  • Publication number: 20230210269
Abstract: Described are bed systems having a headboard, backward facing lights positioned at a back side of the headboard, and a controller operably connected to the backward facing lights that can drive the backward facing lights to provide circadian lighting. The backward facing lights can be recessed into the back side of the headboard. The backward facing lights can provide ambient lighting when controlled by the controller. The controller can determine when a user of the bed system is waking up and control the backward facing lights to provide circadian lighting that corresponds to a wakeup routine for the user. The controller can also determine when the user is going to sleep and control the backward facing lights to provide circadian lighting that corresponds to a sleep routine for the user. The backward facing lights can be LED strips positioned inside an extruded channel in the back side of the headboard.

  • Publication number: 20230210274
Abstract: Described are bed systems with headboards having a main headboard portion, a left wing attached to a first lateral edge and a right wing attached to a second lateral edge of the main headboard portion, and sound insulation material and insulation supports in each of the main headboard portion and the left and right wings. The insulation supports can be spaced apart to form cavities that can be filled in by the sound insulation material. The sound insulation material can be wool batten insulation. The bed system can also include speakers integrated into the left and right wings that allow a user to play audio, such as white and/or pink noise, to cancel surrounding noise. The bed system can also include microphones and a controller that can drive the speakers to cancel noise detected by the microphones.

  • Publication number: 20230210275
Abstract: Described are bed systems including a docking structure defining a first recess and a second recess, a remote to dock into the first recess, and a light integrated into the second recess. The light can move between a docked configuration and an extended configuration. The light can extend out from the second recess and rotate when in the extended configuration. The second recess is aligned with and positioned above the first recess. The first recess has a same width as the second recess, and the first recess has a length substantially longer than the second recess. The remote is oblong and curved at opposite ends. A distal end of the light is oblong-shaped, and the light includes at least one button along a lateral side of the light for turning the light on and off.

  • Publication number: 20230210268
Abstract: Disclosed are bed systems with a foundation having first and second side rails opposite each other and a pocket integrated into an exterior side of at least the first side rail at a distance from a head section of a mattress that is less than a distance from a foot section of the mattress. The pocket can include an inner pocket smaller than the pocket and positioned inside the first pocket. The pocket can include a charging port housing and a charging port supported by the charging port housing. The charging port can be a USB and/or USB-C port. The first side rail can also include a wireless charger and transmitter (e.g., induction charger) integrated therein for providing induction charging to a user device placed inside the pocket. The wireless charger and transmitter can be integrated into a structure of the first side rail at a location opposite the pocket.

  • Publication number: 20230165382
Abstract: A pneumatic adjustment module is attachable to a support panel of a bed. The module has a base received on a support panel of the bed and a tilt panel attached to the base with a vertex hinge. A bladder is positioned between the base and tilt panel. The bladder may have a plurality of expansion segments. The bladder is pneumatically expandable from a deflated condition to an inflated condition. The tilt panel is substantially parallel to the base in the deflated condition and in the inflated condition has an effectively triangular expanded cross section with a vertex proximate the vertex hinge providing the tilt panel with a tilt angle with respect to the base.
