  • Publication number: 20140150498
Abstract: A process for the precision moulding of glass manufactured articles, in particular glass lenses with great sizes and thickness, characterized by reduced surface roughness and high geometrical precision of the shapes, providing a phase wherein one controls actively the geometry of a glass spindle with temperature higher than or equal to its working temperature by means of a mould, and wherein subsequently the temperature and the shape of the spindle during the cooling phase is controlled actively, so that the manufactured article reaches uniformly and in all its volume a single temperature Td, not lower than its glass transition temperature.

  • Publication number: 20080054781
Abstract: Cathode ray tube for which the front face is flat and/or for which the deflection angle is greater than 110°. The tube comprises a front panel supporting a luminescent screen surrounded by a flange perpendicular to the panel, the said panel being defined by: a thickness t at the corner of the screen, a distance t1 between the corner of the screen and the free edge of the flange, a rear part in the form of a funnel, whose tapered free edge is arranged at the distance t2 from the reference line of the tube. The tube is characterized by values of t, t1, t2 chosen in such a manner that the ratio A=(t1+/t)/t2 is between the range of values [0.0061?m?7.8 10?6(?m)2±0.05]. for which ?m is expressed in degrees. Hence, the quantity of glass reduced while providing the mechanical strength necessary for resisting the application of a vacuum to the tube.

  • Publication number: 20070164650
Abstract: Cathode ray tube comprising a colour selection frame/mask assembly suspended within the front face of the said tube by suspension means composed of a first metal member comprising a central elastic part, a first extremity portion comprising a aperture designed to fit around a pin joined to the front face of the tube, and a second extremity portion attached by welding directly or indirectly to the frame the welding being carried out on the surface of the second extremity portion in at least two separate zones arranged in such a manner so as to form an acute angle ? with the hole of the first extremity portion greater than 10°. This support structure enables the tube to be made less sensitive to mechanical vibrations.

  • Publication number: 20070159050
Abstract: Self-converging cathode ray tube with a deflection angle that is greater than 110°. The tube comprises a front panel supporting a luminescent screen surrounded by a flange perpendicular to the panel, the internal surface of the said panel being defined by radii of curvature Rdi along the diagonal, Rxi along the major axis and Ryi along the minor axis such that: 4?Rdi/d?2 0.8?Ryi/Rdi?0.4 1?Rxi/Rdi?0.7 Hence, the geometric distortion of the picture engendered by the self-converging deflection device is minimized, while enabling the shadow mask equipping such a tube to be less sensitive to thermal interferences.

  • Publication number: 20070007873
Abstract: Cathode ray tube with colour selection mask comprising a frame designed to hold the mask at a distance from the screen, the said frame of a noticeably rectangular shape has a pair of short parallel sides of a noticeably L-shaped cross-section with a lateral flank extending in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis connected to a flange noticeably perpendicular to the said longitudinal axis, the width of the flange of each short side is lower in the middle of the side than at its extremities such that the inner edge of the flange defines a curve whose concavity is oriented toward the longitudinal axis of the tube. This frame structure improves the thermal behaviour of the frame/mask assembly and reduces the weight of the materials for producing the frame while maintaining a sufficient mechanical rigidity.

  • Publication number: 20060267473
Abstract: Cathode-ray tube comprising a frame/colour selection mask assembly, in which the free end of the skirt of the mask is constrained by lugs integral with the frame, in such a way as to minimize the nuisance movements of the skirt of the mask under the influence of vibrations generated by the environment of the tube.

  • Patent number: 6717344
Abstract: A cathode-ray tube comprises a color-selection frame/mask assembly, the mask being held under tension by being welded onto the ends of the long sides of the frame, the frame/mask assembly being suspended within the tube with the aid of supports capable of serving to augment the mechanical rigidity of the sides onto which these supports are welded and to cause the long sides of the frame to approach closer to each other during the phases of manufacture at high temperature.

  • Patent number: 6650038
Abstract: Cathode-ray tube (1) comprising a frame/mask assembly for selecting colors having a mask (8) and a frame (19), the mask being held under tension by being attached to ends of long sides (9) of the frame, the frame/mask assembly being suspended inside the tube using support means (10) which are able to increase the mechanical rigidity of the frame by support means having longitudinal dimples (40) which cause the long sides of the frame to come together during the high-temperature manufacturing phases.
