  • Patent number: 10873318
Abstract: Filter circuits having acoustic wave resonators in a transversal configuration are disclosed. In the transversal configuration, the acoustic wave resonators are arranged transverse to an input and output port of the filter circuit. As such, all the acoustic wave resonators of the filter circuit are connected to the input port and connected to the output port. In the transversal configuration, the filter circuit can be designed for any transfer function without being restricted to a coupling coefficient of a piezoelectric material used in the acoustic wave resonators. In this regard, the filter circuit can achieve very wideband filter responses, multiband responses, and/or responses with arbitrary position of transmission zeros. The filter circuit having the transversal configuration can also be designed for complex transmission zeros for phase equalization.

  • Patent number: 7771171
Abstract: A system in a turbine engine for preventing wear on a tip shroud of a turbine blade that includes a pocket formed in a contact surface of the tip shroud and a plug that fits within the pocket and has a durable outer surface. The durable outer surface may include a cobalt-based hardfacing powder. The pocket may be machined out of the contact surface, and the plug may include a plug of predetermined size that fits snugly into the pocket. In some embodiments, the durable outer surface may substantially align with the contact surface after the plug is fitted into the pocket. In other embodiments, the durable outer surface may remain slightly raised from the contact surface after the plug has been fitted into the pocket.

  • Patent number: 7538641
Abstract: A high frequency electromagnetic circuit is disclosed as being patterned on a metallic or superconducting film on top of a dielectric in a plurality of configurations. A part of the circuit such as the characteristic strip or slot of the configurations is shaped in a novel space-filling geometry which allows a significant size reduction of a circuital component. Miniature transmission lines, capacitors, inductors, resistors, filters, and oscillators can be manufactured this way.

  • Patent number: 7245196
Abstract: This invention relates to high frequency electromagnetic circuits, in particular to those made on planar or quasi-planar substrates, where the circuit is patterned on a metallic or superconducting film on top of a dielectric in any of the configurations known to those skilled in the art (for instance micro-strip, strip-line, co-planar, parallel plate or slot-line configurations). A part of the circuit such as the characteristic strip or slot of said configurations is shaped in a novel space-filling geometry which allows a significant size reduction of the circuital component. Miniature transmission lines, capacitors, inductors, resistors, filters and oscillators can be manufactured this way.

  • Publication number: 20050095128
Abstract: A method facilitates assembling a rotor assembly for gas turbine engine. The method includes providing a first rotor blade including an airfoil, a platform, a shank, an internal cavity, and a dovetail, wherein the airfoil extends radially outward from the platform, which includes a radially outer surface and a radially inner surface, the shank extends radially inward from the platform, and the dovetail extends from the shank, such that the internal cavity is defined by the airfoil, the platform, the shank, and the dovetail. The method also includes coupling the first rotor blade to a rotor shaft such that during engine operation, cooling air is channeled from the cavity through an impingement cooling circuit for impingement cooling the first rotor blade platform radially inner surface, and coupling a second rotor blade to the rotor shaft such that a platform gap is defined between the first and second rotor blade platforms.

  • Publication number: 20050031453
Abstract: Third stage turbine buckets have airfoil profiles substantially in accordance with Cartesian coordinate values of X, Y and Z set forth Table I wherein X and Y values are in inches and the Z values are non-dimensional values from 0.03 span to 0.95 span convertible to Z distances in inches by multiplying the Z values by the height of the airfoil in inches. The X and Y values are distances which, when connected by smooth continuing arcs, define airfoil profile sections at each distance Z. The profile sections at each distance Z are joined smoothly to one another to form the bucket airfoil shape. The X, Y and Z distances may be scalable as a function of the same constant or number to provide a scaled up or scaled down airfoil section for the bucket. The nominal airfoil given by the X, Y and Z distances lies within an envelop of ±0.150 inches in directions normal to the surface of the airfoil.
