  • Publication number: 20240138464
Abstract: Described herein, in some embodiments, are systems and methods for optimizing a press cycle for producing one or more press cuts from a harvested fruit/vegetable. In some embodiments, optimizing the press cycle includes optimizing the quality of the juice by identifying and controlling specific pressing parameters to produce the maximum volume of the highest quality juice for every press cut identified by the system and/or the individual components responsible for the juice production. The system might identify the pressing factors for optimum performance using historical juice data from current and prior harvests, laboratory results from the actual juice analysis, other current or past harvest data, and information from juice post processing that are integrated into mathematical models enabling the system and/or process owners to predict certain finished product characteristics from the pressing operations.

  • Publication number: 20240124657
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for optimization and recovery of second-generation sugar diluted stream, comprising pretreatment, enzymatic hydrolysis and mainly washing the residual solid from the enzymatic hydrolysis, which allows the increase of sugar recovery. The use of this sugar diluted stream is crucial for process integration, may have different possibilities of use, for example, can be applied in the mechanical refining step, microorganisms propagation, enzyme production, fermentation, enzymatic hydrolysis, including combination of uses.

  • Patent number: 6978794
Abstract: A controlled irrigation system can include a control device for determining whether to irrigate soil and at least one irrigation structure having an actuator for controlling water flow. The actuator can be communicably coupled to the control device for delivering water to irrigate a region. The controlled irrigation system further can include at least one time domain reflectometry sensor (“TDRS”) located in the soil and communicably coupled to the control device for measuring soil moisture where the control device determines whether to irrigate the soil based on data from the at least one TDRS. Additionally, a method for controlling an irrigation system can include providing multiple TDRS's having probes, distributing each TDRS at a different soil depth, measuring soil moisture content, and irrigating soil based on the measuring step.
