Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for performing print control. In an example there is disclosed a control method. The control method may comprise programming a print mask to instruct printhead nozzles on a moveable carriage to deposit a first line of print material on a medium, wherein the print mask controls the depositing so that an edge of an area of the medium on which material is deposited defines a pattern which is repeated along a scan axis of the carriage and which differs in a direction of movement of the medium. The control method may further comprise scanning the first line of print material. The control method may further comprise performing control of subsequent print material depositing or medium advancement, based on the scan.

Abstract: Examples relate to receiving image data of an image to be sublimation printed, wherein the image data comprising one or more colours to be printed, and a corresponding printing liquid density of the one or more colours. Based on the received image data, a sublimation energy to use to transfer printed printing liquid representing the image into a material is determined, and the determined sublimation energy is provided to a sublimator of a printer for transferring the image.

Abstract: A method of printing, the method comprising: monitoring operation of first nozzles of a first nozzle array, and if malfunction of a number of first nozzles of the first nozzle array is detected, setting a number of second nozzles of a second nozzle array to a compensation mode. Monitoring operation of the number of second nozzles in the compensation mode and, in response to detecting that a printing parameter of the number of second nozzles differs from a reference printing parameter, adjusting an operation mode parameter of a subset of second nozzles.

Abstract: There is disclosed a printhead control method, printhead controller and printer. The method may comprise determining whether ink drop variability is likely to occur based on a first time period in which a printhead is uncovered during a print action but before printing begins, and a second time period that is a minimum period for ink drop variability to occur when the printhead is uncovered. The method may further comprise setting a printhead firing frequency for the print action based on the determination.
