Abstract: A fusible link assembly including a pair of link members arranged in overlying relation and a thermally sensitive bonding material interposed between the link members with the bonding material being solid below a predetermined temperature to form a bond between the link members and liquid at and above the predetermined temperatures such that the link member separates. Each of the link members includes a projection and a slot corresponding to the projection. The slot is spaced relative to the projection on the link member such that the projection of one of the link members is received in the slot of the other link member. Each of the link members also includes an opening with each opening on each of the link members being aligned to define a passage through the fusible link.

Abstract: A fusible sign support has a hanger adapted for connection to an overhead support and a bracket adapted for connection to a sign. The hanger and the bracket are secured to one another by a fusible, eutectic bonding material which liquefies at a selected, elevated temperature. When the bonding material liquefies the hanger and bracket separate enabling the sign to fall. The construction makes possible removal of a sign from the path of water emitted from a fire sprinkler head. The liquefication of the bonding material occurs at a temperature lower than that at which the sprinkler head is activated.

Abstract: A fusible link has two generally oval members in overlying relationship, the two members having relatively flat surfaces confronting one another. One member has a quadrangular slot therein having tapered surfaces and the second member has a quadrangular projection having beveled sides complementing the tapered surfaces. The projection is accommodated in the slot and seats on the tapered surfaces of the latter to provide a space between the confront surfaces. The space is filled with a eutectic alloy which secures the members together. Pins on the members maintain the thickness of the space uniform. When the alloy is heated to a predetermined temperature it melts, thereby enabling the members to separate.

Abstract: A fusible link has a tubular housing having a recess in one side thereof in communication with a bore at one end of which one end of a thermally sensitive strut is seated. A yoke has at one end thereof an arm against which the opposite end of the strut seats. The strut resists relative movement of the housing and the yoke until such time as the strut collapses whereupon the arm is cammed out of the recess enabling separation of the housing and the yoke.
