  • Publication number: 20050255530
Abstract: Transcription factors associated with maintenance of pluripotency, Oct-4 and Nanog, are expressed in bovine and/or caprine pre-implantation embryos and isolated. Oct-4 protein and mRNA are expressed in both the inner cell mass and trophectoderm of expanded goat blastocysts. Oct-4 may play a role in trophectoderm proliferation and prevention of premature differentiation in elongating blastocysts. Nanog mRNA is expressed in the inner cell mass.
