  • Publication number: 20200315999
Abstract: A germicidal composition comprising at least one fast-acting germicidal agent and at least one slow-acting germicidal agent is provided. The use of a dual germicide system permits the composition to provide an immediate antimicrobial effect when applied to an animal's skin, particularly, a bovine teat, and a residual antimicrobial effect for several hours after application. A method for testing this residual antimicrobial effect is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150272198
Abstract: Antimicrobial compositions and methods of using the same for controlling microbial contamination on various foodstuff's during processing are provided. The antimicrobial composition includes a relatively low concentration of active iodine as the antimicrobial agent, but achieves a high efficacy when applied directly to the foodstuff being processed. The present invention can be carried out during processing of meat, poultry, fish, seafood, and even produce with little or no reduction in quality of the final edible product.

  • Patent number: 7858674
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to molded rubber articles such as the type used in water contact applications. More particularly, this disclosure is directed to molded rubber articles containing antimicrobial agents that control biofilm growth on the surface of the molded article. The molded rubber article is comprised of curable rubber compounds and a combination of both inorganic silver-containing antimicrobial agents and organic antimicrobial agents. An exemplary molded rubber article comprises ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, silver-containing ion exchange antimicrobial agent, and an organic antifungal agent such as zinc pyrithione.

  • Publication number: 20090032063
Abstract: This invention relates to solid cleaning compositions and the method for using the solid compositions to clean appliances and other soiled surfaces. The solid cleaning composition is generally comprised of a majority by weight of a cleaning active system; ingredients for forming the cleaning active system into a solid form; and optionally, a fragrance. The solid cleaning composition is ideally suited for reducing and/or eliminating microbial growth, including biofilm growth, contained within and/or on appliances, particularly those appliances that have water contact surfaces such as washing machines and dishwashers. The solid cleaning composition further provides reduction and/or elimination of undesirable odor and staining typically associated with such microbial growth.
