  • Patent number: 9757491
Abstract: An absorbent structure comprising absorbent polymer particles supported by a substrate layer and immobilized on this substrate layer by a thermoplastic adhesive material and further comprising a component sorbing oily substances that may migrate from the thermoplastic adhesive material is disclosed. The absorbent structure can be suitably incorporated in a disposable absorbent article.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2012
Date of Patent: September 12, 2017
Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company
Inventors: Robin Lynn McKiernan, Axel Meyer, Gabriele Stiehl, Carolyn Ann Spitzmueller
  • Patent number: 9314544
Abstract: A durable hydrophilic coating composition is provided comprising a film forming polymer, a wetting agent and from about 0.001% to about 40%, by weight of the composition, of nanoparticles. The nanoparticles are selected from the group consisting of alumina, silica and combinations thereof and have a particle size of from about 1 to about 750 nanometers. The weight ratio of the film forming polymer to the nanoparticles is from about 1:1 to about 1:30. A disposable absorbent article is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 14, 2008
Date of Patent: April 19, 2016
Inventors: Kemal Vatansever Catalan, Carolyn Ann Spitzmueller, Vladimir Gartstein, Matthew Scott Wagner, Dennis Ray Bacon, David S. Salloum, Faiz Feisal Sherman
  • Patent number: 8999884
Abstract: Absorbent structures, and absorbent articles with such structures, comprising water-absorbing polymer having a coating of film-forming polyurethane and therein incorporated a hydrophilic silica.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 1, 2012
Date of Patent: April 7, 2015
Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company

  • Publication number: 20110268932
Abstract: A nonwoven material coated with an amine-polyether silicone. The coating composition may include a wetting agent, an acid, and/or a defoamer. The nonwoven may be incorporated into a disposable absorbent article. The disposable absorbent article may include at least trace amounts of a mineral oil. The coating of the nonwoven may be durable even in the presence of mineral oil.
