  • Patent number: 7500151
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for logging messages on a data bus and temporarily storing the sent messages in a cyclically overwritable volatile storing means. The temporarily stored messages can be examined in a targeted manner for attributes of interest by using a verification program. A storage of the temporarily stored messages in a non-volatile second storing means can be initiated by means of definable trigger events that, for example, are formed from individual or a number of attributes of the messages. To this end, the occurrence of the defined trigger event is determined by a monitoring unit, and the data content of the volatile storing means are subsequently transferred into the storage locations of the non-volatile storing means. The principal advantage achieved with the above method resides in the possibility of backtracking the bus traffic.

  • Publication number: 20070090688
Abstract: A control system for a vehicle combination comprises a towing vehicle and a trailer, with an electronically activatable drive train. A manual operator control device, which is fixed on the towing vehicle, can be used by the vehicle driver to input a driving request for manual operation of the vehicle combination, from which request a standardized movement vector is generated. A control device (19), which is fixed on the towing vehicle, outputs control signals for activating the drive train based on an input movement vector. For the transmission of the control signals, the control device is coupled to the drive train, which processes the control signals to implement the driving request. To improve the functionality of the control system, a trailer coordination device, which is mounted on the towing vehicle, can be used to read in at least one trailer-specific actual value and pass on the actual value to the control device.

  • Patent number: 7117072
Abstract: In a module for detecting the docking of a vehicle, changes of vehicle engine torque and rotational wheel speed of the vehicle are determined as a function of time. It is checked whether the change of the engine torque is >>0 and the change of the rotational wheel speed is <<0. If both of these conditions are met, docking is detected and the vehicle can be braked. The module may be implemented in the form of software.

  • Publication number: 20050029864
Abstract: A brake system for a vehicle can be operated without a driver. It has a service brake device, a parking brake device and an emergency braking device. At least the wheel brake devices of the wheels of one axle of the vehicle have emergency brake actuators which switchover the assigned wheel brake devices into the braking state as a result of the triggering of an emergency braking operation. The emergency braking operation can be triggered either manually by means of an emergency operator control device or automatically by means of a monitoring device if the latter has detected an unacceptable operating state of the vehicle in the driverless operating mode.

  • Patent number: 6665596
Abstract: A control system for a vehicle having a plurality of signal processing levels and actuators, in particular for brake, steering, engine and gearbox, for converting actuation signals and a method for controlling a vehicle. The system employs the following levels: an input level for continuous stipulations or an input level for discrete stipulations and an automation level for generating setpoint value signals, a predictive level and/or a reactive level for correcting the setpoint value signals, a coordination level for converting the set point value signals into actuation signals, and an execution level with the actuators. The actuators are connected to one another and to the coordination level by a fault-tolerant, redundant and bidirectional databus. Measures for redundant signal processing are taken, and data is transmitted in a fault-tolerant, redundant and bidirectional fashion.
