  • Patent number: 7684935
Abstract: A device is disclosed for continuously cutting a fiber cable into sections, as well as a process for operating this device. The device includes a rotary knife carrier fitted with a plurality of knife blades, against which the fiber cable is pressed via a compression wheel. Wear and break of the knife blades are sensed by one or more structure-borne noise sensors. In addition, a characteristic parameter is formed from the signal from the structure-borne noise sensor(s) and compared with a comparison value. Deviations from the comparison value are recognized as disturbances.

  • Publication number: 20080126039
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for simulating a visual surface pattern of a fiber product and a method and an apparatus for producing a multicolored BCF yarn. In this case, at least one parameter of a strand-like fiber bundle is sensed and is digitized into data which is converted with the aid of evaluation electronics into a surface pattern. The visual appearance of a longitudinal portion of the fiber bundle may be detected as an image as a parameter of the stand-like fiber bundle. A rapid and reproducible simulation of the visual surface pattern of a fiber product is consequently possible. Additionally, the production of the fiber product, for example a BCF yarn, can be monitored by means of the simulation results, so that at least one process parameter can be selected and/or monitored. For this purpose, an image acquisition appliance is provided, which is assigned to a bobbin or to the BCF yarn and which is connected to an evaluation device for an actual-value/desired-value comparison.

  • Publication number: 20070199297
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing staple fibers, wherein in a first step a tow is formed from melt spun filaments and deposited into a can, and wherein in a second process step the tows of a plurality of cans in a can creel are withdrawn, treated, and cut to staple fibers. To obtain as much as possible short times of interruption between the first and second process steps, the invention provides for depositing the tow in the first process step directly into the can accommodated in the can creel, with the cans of the can creel being filled one after the other.

  • Patent number: 5778502
Abstract: A device for crimping synthetic thread bundles or bands has a stuffing chamber, a pair of rollers supplying a thread bundle or band into the stuffing chambers, a pressing disk covering a roller gap at end sides of the rollers, a clamping element including and axially reciprocating piston which presses the pressing disks against the end surfaces of the rollers, a rotary drive having a drive unit for producing a reciprocating movement and an apparatus for converting the reciprocating movement in a stepped rotation of the pressing disks, the clamping element being fixedly connected with the rotary drive to form a structural group, the structural group having a single rotatably supported and axially displaceable driven element which axially engages the pressing disk and is fixedly connected with it for joint rotation, the piston of the clamping element being clampable inside the structural group axially against the driven element, the rotary drive having a swivel motor with a swiveling shaft which is reciprocatin
