  • Patent number: 7674005
Abstract: In an embodiment, a recessed light fixture includes a structural reflector and two end caps that form a light fixture housing. A first, second and third optics areas are provided. At least one first light source type is mounted near the first optics area. A second light source type is mounted near the second optics area and the second light source type is mounted near the third optics areas, the second light source type having a light output level substantially lower than the light output level of the first light source type. A diffuser is configured to sealably mount to the light fixture housing so as to substantially seal an interior portion of the light fixture. In operation, the light fixture can be switch between an ambient mode and an examination mode while providing a cost effective and attractive design.

  • Publication number: 20090122551
Abstract: A light fixture is configured to provide indirect lighting from a light source through use of a light shield. The light shield blocks a percentage of the light emitted from the light source at a center of the light shield. The light shield decreasing blocks light emitted from the light source along a path between the center and an outer edge of the light shield.

  • Publication number: 20090094087
Abstract: A multi-tier cross-department scheduling model for order processing operations. A scheduling model for planning assignment of discrete jobs to multiple departments for shipment, wherein selected jobs are assignable to respective selected departments and the departments share finite capacity resources, includes a programmable computer system having loaded therein an objective function, and the computer system being operable to minimize a value of the objective function; and wherein the objective function comprises a sum of cost to ship containers in at least one of consolidated and unconsolidated forms, cost for each of a container equivalent not completed in a selected scheduling horizon, cost to process each job in each department, and cost for setup due to at least one of shift crossing and job splitting.

  • Publication number: 20040022060
Abstract: A light-fixture shade-assembly mounting apparatus is operatively coupled to a light fixture via a plurality of coupling members, such as hinged limbs. A hinged limb may be coupled to a shade-assembly via a peg inserted through a bore. A locking mechanism may secure the shade assembly into a normal-operation position and may allow the shade assembly to be lowered into a bulb-replacement position. The locking mechanism may include a locking cam having an angled surface so that, as the locking cam engages a portion of the light fixture and rotates, the inclined surface of the locking cam will cause the position of the shade assembly to become higher or lower with respect to the light fixture. The locking mechanism may include a visual indication, such as an arrow, which allows a person to determine the locking cam's orientation relative to a locked position and an unlocked position.
