Abstract: A portable information handling system selectively slides a display integrated in a housing relative to the housing to expose and cover a camera integrated in the housing behind the display. For example, upon execution of a videoconferencing application, an actuator slides the display to expose the camera to support a videoconference, and after the videoconference application completes, the display slides to cover the camera, thus providing security against unauthorized viewing through the camera, which is physically blocked from receiving light.

Abstract: A chassis venting apparatus includes a chassis defining a chassis enclosure, the chassis enclosure including a first wall, and a chassis vent structure extending from the first wall and into the chassis enclosure, the chassis vent structure defining a chassis venting passageway in the chassis enclosure. Heated air from heat producing components may be vented from the chassis enclosure through the chassis vent structure and the chassis venting passageway, and the first wall and chassis venting passageway may also be used as a handle to lift the chassis.

Abstract: Tooless assembly of a keyboard into an information handling system housing is performed by dropping the keyboard into an opening of the housing so that tabs and hooks of the keyboard align with tab slots and hook slots of the housing, by sliding the keyboard relative to the housing to engage the tabs in the tab slots and the hooks in the hook slots, and by securing the keyboard from moving relative to the housing with a tooless keyboard lock. For instance, a portable information handling system having a hinged lid secures the keyboard from sliding by inserting a hinge cover between the keyboard and the housing, the hinge cover having rib structures to keep it in place. Sliding of the keyboard relative to the housing is aided with a pull tab coupled to the keyboard that stores under the hinge cover once assembly is complete.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are presented for making the cable connectors of a docking port more easily accessible for coupling and decoupling peripheral devices to the docking port. An advantage of the present invention is that it provides for easier accessibility with a minimum of moving parts and mechanisms by providing for the rotation of part of the docking port to make the port's connectors more easily accessible to a computer user.
