  • Patent number: 11194958
Abstract: A fact replacement and style consistency tool is described. Rather than rely heavily on human involvement to replace facts and maintain consistent styles across multiple digital documents, the described change management system identifies factual and stylistic inconsistencies between these documents, in part, using natural language processing techniques. Once these inconsistencies are identified, the change management system generates a user interface that includes indications of the inconsistencies and information describing them, e.g., an indication noting not only a type of inconsistency but also presenting a first portion and at least a second portion of the multiple documents that are factually inconsistent.

  • Patent number: 10984172
Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media that utilize a genetic framework to generate enhanced digital layouts from digital content fragments. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems iteratively generate a layout chromosome of digital content fragments, determine a fitness level of the layout chromosome, and mutate the layout chromosome until converging to an improved fitness level. The disclosed systems can efficiently utilize computing resources to generate a digital layout from a layout chromosome that is optimized to specified platforms, distribution audiences, and target optimization goals.

  • Patent number: 10963627
Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems that, based on a sparse textual segment, can use machine learning models to generate document variants that are both conforming to digital content guidelines and uniquely tailored for distribution to client devices of specific audiences via specific delivery channels. To create such variants, in some embodiments, the methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems generate suggested modifications to a draft document that correspond to features of content-guideline-conforming documents. Additionally, or alternatively, in certain implementations, the disclosed methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and systems generate suggested modifications to a draft document that correspond to features of audience-channel-specific documents.

  • Patent number: 10922492
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed to assist an author in creating content variations of a given input text to better suit the mood or the affect preferences of the target audience. Affect distribution in the content is utilized to capture these psycholinguistic preferences. According to one embodiment, in a first phase the optimal/idea psycholinguistic preference for text content aimed at a particular audience segment is determined. In a second phase, a given text content is modified to align to a target language distribution, which was determined in the first phase. In one example case, word level replacement, insertions and deletions are executed to generate a modified and coherent version of the input text. The output text thus reflects the psycholinguistic requirements of the audience.

  • Patent number: 10891667
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for bundling and arranging online content fragments for presentation based on content-specific metrics and inter-content constraints. For example, a content management application accesses candidate content fragments, a content-specific metric, and an inter-content constraint. The content management application computes minimum and maximum contribution values for the candidate content fragments. The content management application selects, based on the computed minimum and maximum contribution values, a subset of the candidate content fragments. The content management application applies, subject to the inter-content constraint, a bundle-selection function to the selected candidate content fragments and thereby identifies a bundle of online content fragments. The content management application outputs the identified bundle of online content fragments for presentation via an online service.

  • Patent number: 10558741
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for concurrent preparation of multiple versions of a website. Web page content can be branched in response to a request from a first user to create a working copy of one or more production web pages source documents. Any edits applied to the production version of the documents may be automatically applied to the working copy. Further, the working copy can be edited independently of the production version. The working copy can be promoted to production by replacing the production version with the edited working copy. Any number of separate working copies can be created and edited concurrently with the production version.

  • Patent number: 10521494
Abstract: Content can be displayed in different manners on different devices (e.g., having different display sizes) using different layout templates. The techniques discussed herein automatically select a layout template for the content for a particular display device, and transform the content to that layout template for display. Generally, the content is categorized into multiple different categories, and the layout template is also categorized into the same categories. For each of the categories, a mapping of part of the content to a layout element of the layout template is selected. A content display for the layout template is generated by porting (and possibly transforming) the parts of the content into the mapped-to element (as indicated by the selected edges) of the layout. In one or more embodiments, the content display can then be displayed or communicated to another device for display.

  • Patent number: 10503738
Abstract: Certain embodiments involve creating multimedia content with text and media assets that illustrate the text. Multiple sentences are ranked on various features. A sentence ranking is determined based on, for example, the presence of important phrases in the sentence, the degree to which informational content of the sentence can be represented through a media asset, the presence of one or more sentiments associated with the sentence, and the readability of the sentence. In some examples, the ranked sentences are analyzed to determine similar information content, and the sentences are re-ranked based on this analysis. A subset of the ranked sentences with higher ranks are analyzed to determine similarities between content in the sentence and text descriptions of media assets. This analysis can be used to select appropriate images or other media assets. Multimedia content is generated in which the selected media assets are positioned near the set of sentences.

  • Patent number: 10102191
Abstract: A method for propagating changes from master content to variant content includes receiving, from a user interface, a modified master text composition that incorporates changes to a master text composition. Each of the master text composition, the modified master text composition, and a variant text composition assigned to the master text composition are divided into text units. A correspondence model is constructed that includes mappings between the text units of the master text composition, the text units of the modified master text composition, and the text units of the variant text composition. Proposed changes to the variant text composition are determined that correspond to the changes to the master text composition based on the mappings. At least one of the proposed changes is integrated into the variant text composition.

  • Patent number: 10062100
Abstract: Techniques disclosed herein identify visitors who visit a real-world shopping venue as belonging to a group. This involves tracking a physical action of a visitor present at the real-world shopping venue and identifying the visitor based on the tracked physical action and previously collected visitor information associated with the venue. The visitor is determined to be a member of a group based on the previously collected visitor information. Based on determining that the visitor is a member of the group, a notification is sent to another member of the group. The notification identifies that the visitor has placed at least one item in a sharing cart while the visitor is present at the real-world shopping venue. A system determines that visitors who routinely visit a real-world shopping venue belong to a group based on their activities while visiting the venue, and allows the visitors to provide feedback to each other.
