  • Patent number: 7509426
Abstract: A system and method for aborting web services automatically. An application program container has a first web service application program embedded, intercepts a message that is transmitted and received between a second web service program located externally and the first web service application program, identifies the kind of an operation requested by the second web service application program, and keeps information required for compensation. A protocol manager generates and manages a first sub-transaction object by a request of the second web service application program. A local compensator compensates the first sub-transaction if a global transaction coordinator sends a command to compensate a second sub-transaction already committed. A protocol service unit transmits and receives messages for managing the first sub-transaction. A registration service unit registers the generated first sub-transaction with the global transaction coordinator.

  • Publication number: 20080137950
Abstract: A system and method for analyzing the motions of an object based on the silhouettes of the object are provided. The system includes a foreground detector, a contour extractor, a model generator, a corner histogram generator, and a value of similarity measuring unit. The foreground detector detects a moving foreground object from an input image. The contour extractor extracts silhouette contour of the detected foreground object, and the model generator generates mean value histogram models as references to determine motions of the object.

  • Publication number: 20050081039
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for creating and verifying SOAP messages in web service security using signature encryption. The SOAP message sender encrypts a signature used for SOAP message security with a secret key for encrypting data to be contained in the SOAP body. The encrypted signature is inserted in the security header of the SOAP header and sent to the recipient. The SOAP message recipient decrypts the encrypted key with his/her private key and restores the secret key. The restored secret key is used to decrypt the encrypted signature in the security header of the SOAP header, and the decrypted signature is used to verify the SOAP message.

  • Patent number: 6754683
Abstract: A method of implementing an electronic calculator function in a portable terminal having a display comprises the steps of: setting an electronic calculator mode; displaying separately on the display: a first input window which receives and displays therein numeric information subject to arithmetic operation, a second input window which receives and displays therein operation/control commands, and an output window which displays therein an information input state and a result of the operation; displaying the numeric information in the output window when the corresponding information is inputted through the first input window; performing an operation on the numeric information displayed in the output window when the operation/control commands are inputted through the second input window; and displaying resultant numeric information, resulting from the operation, in the output window. The size of the output window may be increase as needed by reducing the sizes of the first and second input windows.

  • Patent number: 6448061
Abstract: This invention relates to a mutant Escherichia coli SS373 and the production of succinic acid by using the above strain. In detail, a novel E. coli SS373 (W3110 pta::Tn10 ldhA::Km) with the deficiency in the acetate and lactate forming pathways was constructed by genetic engineering technique. An aerobically grown SS373 was then cultured by means of the anaerobic condition shift during the succinate producing stage, which resulted in the efficient production of succinic acid with a higher yield.

  • Patent number: 5636189
Abstract: An optical pickup system for determining a focussing error by utilizing an improved astigmatic method, the system comprising: a light source; an optical detector, including a square light-reception surface formed by arranging four square photoelectric cells; a beam splitter provided with a reflection surface for reflecting the light beam from the light source and for transmitting the light beam reflected from the recording surface; a first and a second adders for adding outputs from each of two opposite corners of the square light-reception surface; an objective lens, disposed between the beam splitter and the optical disk; a graded index lens, located between the beam splitter and the optical detector, for making the light beam transmitted through the beam splitter astigmatic as it passes therethrough; and a differential amplifier for generating a focussing error signal.

  • Patent number: 5568462
Abstract: The inventive knife edge method for use in an optical pick-up system capable of detecting a focussing error is comprised of a light source, an optical detector, a knife edge, an objective lens and a differential amplifier. The system is different from the optical pickup system utilizing a conventional knife edge method in that a beam splitter is absent in the inventive system. By eliminating the loss factor stemming from the presence of a beam splitter from the system, it is possible to increase the optical efficiency of the light beam.

  • Patent number: 5546235
Abstract: A cylindrical astigmatic lens is used conventionally in detecting focussing errors in an optical pickup system. The inventive astigmatic lens is comprised of an orthorhombic base, made of a refractive material, provided with two parallel surfaces and a centerplane perpendicular thereto, and two sets of M pentahedrons, made of the same refractive material, placed on one of the two parallel surfaces thereof in such a way that each set of M pentahedrons is symmetric with respect to the centerplane. Each of the pentahedrons consists of three rectangular surfaces and two right angled triangular side surfaces, each of the triangular side surfaces being defined by a height H.sub.m, a base R.sub.m and an inclination. Since the height is the same in all of the triangular side surfaces in the M pentahedrons, the dimension of each pentahedron in the inventive astigmatic lens is defined by R.sub.m, R.sub.m being expressed as ##EQU1## wherein f represents the focus length and .lambda.
