    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses method and data restoration system for restoring historic data of an enterprise. The data restoration system receives a request from a user through a transformation backup server, for restoring historic data from a legacy storage device of a plurality of legacy storage devices, associated with an enterprise, along with metadata associated with the historic data. The metadata is previously extracted and stored in a format recognizable by the transformation backup server. The data restoration system determines format of the historic data based on the metadata and extracts historic data from the legacy storage device, using at least one of the metadata and a predefined execution process associated with the historic data, based on the format of the historic data. Thereafter, extracted historic data is restored to the user. The present disclosure recovers legacy data as when required without large migration or any data conversion.

    Abstract: Disclosed subject matter relates to data backup operations including a method of automating data backup in Hybrid Cloud and Data Centre (DC) environment. A backup automation system receives a latest backup report including data of workloads associated with clients and detects missing workloads in the latest backup report by comparing the latest backup report with a master inventory report. Furthermore, the backup automation system identifies one or more parameters corresponding to the missing workloads and performs data backup operations for the missing workloads based on the one or more parameters. Further, the backup automation system updates timestamp for each of the missing workloads upon completion of the data backup operations for automating the data backup. The present disclosure ensures successful backup of each and every workload, in accordance with the SLA, by automatically performing the data backup operations, and also allows integrating data backup operations across customer preferred platforms.

A data allocating system may pool storage devices and backup data corresponding to client devices. Further performance parameters of storage devices may be evaluated for a pre-set time period based on which a rank is assigned to each of the plurality of storage devices based on performance parameters. Upon assigning the rank, the load characteristics and performance characteristics may be evaluated for each client device for the pre-set time period based on which a performance load index is determined for each client device. Finally, backup data of each client device may be dynamically allocated to each storage device by correlating rank and performance load index. The present disclosure reduces load on single storage device and increases efficiency by reducing delay in backing up data.
