  • Patent number: 5805325
Abstract: Stabilization of pointing and stabilization mirror systems is provided by using the inherent moment of inertia of the mirrors. Inertially stabilized mirror systems have mirror orientations and rotation axes such that the mirrors reflect incident radiation parallel to the rotation axes. One mirror is provided for each axis of stabilization. In order to maintain stabilization in space for incident radiation to the mirror, any prior mirrors are provided with rotation axes parallel to the stabilization axis.

  • Patent number: 5774253
Abstract: A wedge window changes the direction of radiation passing through the window to shorten the window required for unvignetted viewing. An orthogonal reflection pointing mirror reduces the window size that is required for unvignetted viewing through a window over a finite range of viewing angles. A wedge window is used in combination with an orthogonal reflection pointing mirror to reduce the window size that is required for unvignetted viewing over a finite range of viewing angles that includes large incidence angles.

  • Patent number: 4752977
Abstract: A crib having a frame and a bed supported by the frame includes at least one side rail assembly for enclosing one side of the bed surface. The side rail is attached to the frame for raising and lowering movement of the side rail. A latch assembly releasably secures the side rail in a raised position. A handle assembly includes a first rod connected to the side rail. A second rod is slidably connected to and located above the first rod for movement relative thereto. An actuator is connected between the second rod and the latch so that movement of the second rod toward the first releases the latch. The rods may be pivotally moved away from the side rail. A projection attached to the side rail is positioned between the rods to prevent movement of the rods for releasing the latch unless the rods are first pivoted away from the side rail.

  • Patent number: 4322899
Abstract: A hydraulic steering mechanism is used in a self-propelled, non-riding trenching machine of the type having a chassis, a power source, a hydraulic pump driven by the power source, a reservoir supplying hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic pump and a digging boom. The steering mechanism includes a front wheel assembly journaled into the chassis, a double acting cylinder pivotally mounted to the chassis, a piston and rod slidably mounted within the cylinder and pivotally connected to the front wheel assembly, a first port located on one side of the piston and a second port located on an opposite side of the piston, and a manually operable three-position valve communicating with the hydraulic pump and the cylinder so that hydraulic fluid can be directed from the pump alternately to the first or second ports causing the rod alternately to extend or retract thereby rotating the front wheel assembly from side to side.
