  • Publication number: 20160309661
Abstract: A blower can have a housing having an inlet, an outlet, and a volute channel in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. A fan assembly may be at least partially supported by the housing, and include a fan, and a driving mechanism can be coupled to the fan assembly for rotating the fan to create air flow through the housing. A tube can be removably connected to the housing and in fluid communication with the outlet to direct air flow exiting the housing, and a guard can be at least partially received within the tube. The guard can have guard features preventing access to the housing and attachment features attaching the tube to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20090172955
Abstract: An improved string trimmer head is described. The trimmer head comprises a housing with a spool and spring assembly enclosed within the housing. The trimmer head further comprises a lid connected to the housing and a bump knob with a base and an intermediate member. The base of the bump knob is located inside the housing. The intermediate member extends outside the housing through the lid. The lid comprises an annulus which surrounds the base. The height of the annulus is greater than a maximum compressing distance of the spool when compressed by the bump knob. A segment of the intermediate member remains outside the lid when the spool is compressed. The bump knob further comprises a finger slot with an outer edge and a recessed portion. A bottom side of the outer edge is positioned farther away from the spool than the recessed portion.

  • Publication number: 20080191369
Abstract: A carburetor with a housing defining an air intake and fluidly connected to a throttle system is provided. A rotatable choke is connected to the carburetor and includes a plate with an inlet aperture in fluid communication with the air intake. A dial is rotatably mounted to the housing and surrounds a portion of the plate. The dial substantially blocks the inlet aperture when in a first position with respect to the plate, and the dial exposes the inlet aperture when in a second position with respect to the plate.

  • Publication number: 20030226738
Abstract: The disclosed discharge chute directional control system and method is typically used on outdoor power equipment. By moving the position of the handle portion of a spring loaded handle assembly, the operator imparts rotation to a cam assembly. Rotation of the cam assembly imparts opposing forces on a pair of cables. These opposing forces, when applied to the rotational mounting of a discharge chute, change the orientation of the discharge chute.

  • Patent number: 5842552
Abstract: A power-driven lawn mower including a push-pull cable having a core connecting a bail arm pivotally supported on the handle and a clutch mechanism which engages and disengages the drive system. A control case is secured to the handle between the bail arm and the clutch assembly and has a side wall which forms a longitudinally extending groove with an open outer side. The handle engages the control case adjacent the outward side of the groove. A self-adjusting mechanism for the cable includes a slider longitudinally movable within the groove of the control case, a spring element, and a lock pin. The slider engages a rear end of a conduit of the cable and has a rack of longitudinally spaced ratchet teeth thereon. The spring element forwardly urges the slider toward the rear end of the conduit.
