Abstract: A smoker box and humidifier for a barbecue grill has a container body having a top and at least one and preferably a plurality of top opening at its top. Isolated compartments are provided in the container body. At least one of the isolated compartments is capable of holding wood chips or the like for producing a flavoring smoke, and at least one of compartments is capable of holding a liquid separate from but in close proximity to the wood chips or the like. The compartments in the container body are positioned such that, when the smoker box is heated, both the flavoring smoke and moistening vapors produced in the compartments of the container body circulate up through the top openings in the top of said container body. The container body can include a drawer with isolated compartments, which can be pulled out to replenish spent wood chips and fluids.

Abstract: The “Venturi Didgeridoo” or “Reverse Didgeridoo” is a musical instrument played in the manner of a didgeridoo (i.e. with an “unvoiced linguolabial trill” made by loosely vibrating or “fluttering” lips). It consists of one or more venturi chambers in which the diameter of the mouth opening (proximal end) is greater than the diameter of the opening at the distal end (in novel contrast to the construction of any other end-blown musical instrument). This tapered tube constitutes a venturi chamber in which the velocity of air is increased at the point of greatest constriction and in which internal pressure is increased at the point of greatest diameter. This unique acoustical design creates pitches that are much lower than those possible in traditional didgeridoos of equal length. A sequence of several separate venturi chambers consisting of graduated cylinder sections of diminishing diameter will result in an extremely compact, collapsing (telescoping) instrument.

Abstract: An emulsion polymerization process using a redox initiator comprising a reductant and an oxidant, wherein monomers are mixed into a carrier liquid, e.g. water, to make a pre-emulsion, which is then supplied to a reactor comprising one or more circulation loops, an outlet, and a circulation pump for circulating a reactor charge within the circulation loop, characterized in that the reductant is added to the pre-emulsion before it is mixed into the reactor charge and the oxidant is mixed into the reactor charge, e.g., via the water-phase feed.

Abstract: A polymerization reactor comprising one or more circulation loops with one or more inlets for raw material, one or more outlets, and a circulation pump for circulating a reactor charge within the circulation loop. A by-pass line for by-passing the circulation pump connects a point of the loop upstream of the pump with a point downstream of the pump.

Abstract: A temperature sensing and display system is provided for simultaneously monitoring the doneness of different pieces of meat or different portions of a piece of meat being cooked or grilled. The temperature sensing and display system includes a base unit having a temperature display and a plurality of temperature monitoring inputs. A plurality of temperature probes are provided that connect to the different temperature inputs of the base unit.

Abstract: A polymerization reactor comprising a circulation loop, an inlet for raw material, an outlet, driving means for circulating a reactor charge within the circulation loop, and a pig station for storing, launching, and receiving cleaning pigs. The pig station comprises a lid to cover an opening enabling removal of the cleaning pig. The pig station is constructed as a box with a cylindrical bore connected at both ends to the circulation loop, the bore having a central part with a diameter which is larger than the inner diameter of the circulation loop. At a transitional part at the outer ends of the bore the bore diameter narrows down to be substantially equal to the inner tube diameter of the circulation loop. Over at least a part of the inner bore substantially half of the circular cross-section is formed in the removable lid.

Abstract: A skewer shield includes a shielding body adapted for placement on a cooking grill, and a skewer engaging portion extending upwardly from the shielding body. The skewer engaging portion has a top resting edge on which food-ladened skewers can be rested in such a manner that the shielding body of the skewer shield prevents the handle ends of the skewers from heating up.

Abstract: A wood chip soaking apparatus has a fluid holding base container having end walls suited for supporting at least one, and suitably two, or even more, wood chip baskets in the container for pre-soaking the wood chips to be added to a barbeque heat source. Wood chips are preferably supported in the base container on handles projecting from the wood chip baskets. The base container preferably is provided with elevated side walls for supporting the wood chip baskets in an elevated position after soaking for draining the fluid from the baskets.
