  • Publication number: 20210174675
Abstract: A traffic light display assembly includes a control panel that is positioned on a dashboard of a semi tractor. The control panel includes a camera for viewing a traffic light which the semi tractor is facing. A display unit is removably coupled to a back side of a semi trailer to be visible to traffic behind the semi trailer. The display unit is in remote communication with the control panel. Moreover, the display unit has a plurality of light emitters thereon each being associated with a respective light on the traffic light at which the semi tractor facing. Each of the light emitters is turned on when the associated light on the traffic light is turned on to communicate the status of the traffic light to the traffic behind the semi trailer.

  • Patent number: 10348836
Abstract: Methods of migrating clients from a first server to a second server are described. The first server sends a message to the second server identifying a set of clients to be migrated, serializes the state of one or more objects associated with the set of clients and transmits the serialized state to the second server. The first server then instructs each client in the set of clients to establish a connection to the second server such that each client is connected in parallel to both the first and second servers with the connection to the first server as a primary connection and the connection to the second server as a secondary connection and when the clients are connected to the second server, the first server instructs the clients to disconnect from the first server and switch the primary connection to be the connection with the second server.

  • Patent number: 9499854
Abstract: The claims describe a process for designing and validating peptide-based substrates for a specified kinase. The process uses a rational approach to design peptides with a specific amino acid that is phosphorylated by a target tyrosine kinase, and upon phosphorylation shows an increased affinity for a lanthanide ion that results in an enhanced fluorescent signal. The process uses kinase specific input data sets, encodes the input into positional scoring matrices, analyses the positional scoring matrices in order to generate a candidate list of peptide sequences, compares the peptide sequences in the candidate list, substitutes residues at non-selective positions in selections from the candidate list with terbium binding residues, and then screens the substituted selections with different kinases in vitro.

  • Publication number: 20100083324
Abstract: Synchronized video playback among multiple users across a network provides a fully social experience where people in different locations may be enabled to watch the same video in a “virtual living room.” The users may be represented graphically, as avatars, in front of the video, and may be enabled to use animations, text chat, and voice chat to interact with each other. Thus, a group of people may be enabled to share the experience of watching a video together as if they were in the same room, without being physically present together.

  • Publication number: 20060047561
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing a framework for operational risk management and control. In the disclosed systems and methods, roles and responsibilities may be defined for at least one function of an enterprise, and at least one control objective may be defined to identify at least one operational risk associated with at least one of the roles and responsibilities. Further, at least one control standard may be defined to describe an activity to be taken to achieve the at least one control objective. Finally, certification may be performed to certify adherence to the at least one control standard. In one embodiment, a periodic certification process may be implemented to determine compliance with the at least one control standard by a person responsible for the performance of the control standard.

  • Patent number: 5761636
Abstract: Audio quality perception can be improved in an audio compression system 100 by defining a frequency subband threshold 205. With the frequency subband threshold 205, each frequency subband favorable to the threshold will be allocated at least a predetermined number of bits while frequency subbands unfavorable to the threshold will receive no bit allocations. This determination is made on an audio frame by audio frame basis, or upon change of the audio compression ratio, since changing any of the parameters: bitrate, sampling rate and coding mode changes the compression ratio.
