  • Publication number: 20060162276
Abstract: A method for beautification of an uninhabited or condemned building in an urban area utilizing camouflage sheeting placed over sealing materials (such as plywood) which have been secured across door and window penetrations to prevent egress by unauthorized persons. The camouflage depicts a realistic rendering of an external door, or a view through a window to the interior of a room, making it appear to a casual external observer that proper doors and windows are in place. The rendering may be made of UV-resistant coloring and covered with UV-resistant laminate. The camouflage sheeting may be made from paper, plastic or fabric and is sized to suit its respective opening and may be adhered to said egress-preventing materials or to the edges of said penetrations. The disclosed method of urban beautification is an economical solution to the loss of aesthetics caused by the boarding up of abandoned or condemned housing.

  • Patent number: 5990668
Abstract: A circuit for producing an alternating output current may comprise a first current regulator and a second current regulator. The first current regulator produces a first phase of the alternating output current and regulates the current of the first phase. The second current regulator produces a second phase of the alternating output current and regulates the current of the second phase. A first polarity reversing circuit operatively associated with the first current regulator periodically reverses the polarity of the first phase. A second polarity reversing circuit operatively associated with the second current regulator periodically reverses the polarity of the second phase. A control system operatively associated with the first and second current regulators and the first and second polarity reversing circuits controls the operation of the first and second current regulators and the first and second polarity reversing circuits.

  • Patent number: 5910886
Abstract: Power supply apparatus according to the present invention may comprise a direct current source and a phase-shift converter circuit connected to the direct current source. A rectifier is connected to the output of the phase-shift converter circuit and rectifies a modulated output signal produced by the phase-shift converter circuit. An average current sensor connected to the rectifier senses the time average current in the rectifier and produces an average current feedback signal. A control device connected to the average current sensor and to the phase-shift converter circuit is responsive to the average current feedback signal and operates the phase-shift converter circuit in accordance with the average current feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 4434549
Abstract: An improved, selective, radiation sensing device is provided which includes a thin strip of pyroelectric material. One side of the material is coated with a continuous layer of metallic material to form an electrode while the opposite side is coated with at least a pair of electrodes and the output of the electrodes are electrically connected to a differential amplifier. A layer of energy filter material is applied over the continuous electrode. This layer is transparent to all energy outside of a desired energy frequency band to which the device is to be sensitive but absorbs and converts to heat all energy applied which is within this band. This heat is conducted quickly into the pyroelectric material which produces a voltage change in the output from the corresponding electrodes.
