  • Patent number: 4684284
Abstract: Anti-rotation lock asembly includes a male threaded member that may be releasably locked in any desired axially adjusted position relative to a mating female threaded member by means of one or more wedge keys that are forced axially into notches in an end face of the female threaded member and radially against flats or keyways on the male threaded member. Surrounding the male member is a key retaining ring which retains the wedge keys on the male member when the wedge keys are disengaged from the female member to permit relative rotation between the male and female members for adjustment of the male member in or out relative to the female member. The wedge keys are retained in radial slots in the retaining ring which prevent relative axial movement between the wedge keys and retaining ring while permitting limited radial movement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4248486
Abstract: A spherical bearing adapted for use in rod end connections and the like, characterized by an outer race member having opposite faces and a concave spherical inner race surface, and a ball-like inner member within the outer race member having a complementary convex spherical outer bearing surface. At each face of the outer race member is a pair of diametrically opposed segmental slots. The diametrically opposed slots in each face are in alignment with the slots of the other and extend transversely partially through the housing with transversely opposed slots being separated by an annular contact band which maintains substantially constant side clearance between the inner member and outer race member thereby to prevent the development of high stress concentrations in the outer race member during loading. In use, the opposed slots are necessarily aligned substantially at right angles to the line along which the bearing is subjected to loads.

  • Patent number: 4072165
Abstract: A poppet type relief valve includes a poppet and associated seat with the poppet being mounted in an actuator which is connected to the poppet by a lost-motion connection. The poppet is spring loaded with respect to the actuator, and the actuator is also spring loaded toward the seat. When pressure is applied between the poppet and the actuator, the actuator is forced back against its spring until the lost motion is taken up. Further increases in pressure cause the actuator to pull the poppet away from its seat permitting flow through the valve in one direction. Pressure applied on the opposite side of the poppet causes the poppet to move away from the seat without necessarily moving the actuator simply by overcoming the force of the spring between the poppet and the actuator. Thus, pressure on one side of the poppet will cause it to open at a predetermined pressure, and pressure on the opposite side will also cause it to open at another predetermined pressure.
