  • Patent number: 11780513
Abstract: A track assembly mountable to a rotatable rear axle of a vehicle includes a frame, a drive wheel rotationally mounted to the frame and being structured to be attached to the axle of the vehicle, a front idler wheel and a rear idler wheel assemblies mounted to the frame, and a track. The track has an inner surface facing the drive wheel, and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The outer surface has a plurality of traction lugs distributed along the outer surface. The track includes a plurality of longer transverse reinforcement rods distributed therethrough and a plurality of shorter transverse reinforcement rods distributed therethrough. The shorter transverse reinforcement rods are shorter in length than the longer transverse reinforcement rods. Each of the longer and shorter transverse reinforcement rods is aligned along at least a part of its length with at least one of the traction lugs.

  • Publication number: 20210237813
Abstract: A drive wheel for a track system having an endless track that has first, second, and third drive wheel engagers is disclosed. The drive wheel has a hub, a body, a rim, a plurality of first, second and third track engagers radially disposed on the rim. Each of the plurality of second track engagers are operationally aligned with one of the plurality of first track engagers. The plurality of third track engagers are on at least one lateral side of the plurality of first track engagers. The plurality of first, second and third track engagers are configured to, respectively, driveably engage with a first, second, and third drive wheel engagers of the endless track. An endless track and a track system are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10625798
Abstract: A grouser assembly is selectively attachable to an endless track having a carcass, side edges and traction lugs. The grouser assembly includes a body having top and bottom faces. The body includes a recess defined in the bottom face that is shaped to receive a traction lug of the endless track. The grouser assembly further includes ground-contacting projections connected to the body and extending away from the top face, and first and second attachment assemblies connected to the body. The second attachment assembly has an attached configuration and a released configuration, and is positioned relative to the first attachment assembly such that when (i) the traction lug is received in the recess, (ii) the first attachment assembly attaches the grouser assembly to the carcass, and (iii) the second attachment assembly is in the attached configuration, the second attachment assembly attaches the grouser assembly to the endless track.

  • Publication number: 20180265145
Abstract: A novel smart track system having embedded sensors and method of using the same is disclosed. The smart track system comprises a track system having a traction band. The traction band having sensors embedded therein. The embedded sensors are preferably autonomously powered sensor is embedded within the track, wherein the autonomously powered sensor is configured to sense one of the following parameter of the track: temperature, acceleration, angular moment, displacement, magnetic field or geolocation.

  • Publication number: 20160114841
Abstract: An elastomeric track assembly and track band having damping features is disclosed. The track comprises several surfaces disposed as to dampen the force of impact. The track is configured to have a ground contacting surface and portion not in contact with the ground. The idler and road wheels where applicable are disposed above a portion of the track that is not primarily in contact with the ground surface in order to prevent alignment between the wheel and the point of impact with the ground surface.
