Abstract: An apparatus for supporting and controlling fluid delivery to a dental handpiece includes a frame with a holder for receiving the handpiece, a compressed air actuating arrangement having a valve which is opened and closed by the insertion and removal of the handpiece into and from the holder, and fluid delivery tubing which extends to the handpiece and is affixed at spaced locations to the frame and to the actuating arrangement for folding of the tubing upon itself to close the tubing against fluid flow when the handpiece is mounted in its holder and for unfolding the tubing for open fluid flow when the handpiece is removed from the holder.

Abstract: An endodontic syringe for injecting thermoplastic material, such as gutta percha into a root canal cavity. The syringe includes a drive motor and mechanism for reversible axial translation of a plunger, a removable gutta percha cartridge and needle, and a heating element surrounding the cartridge to heat the gutta percha to a fluid condition. Forward movement of the plunger, against a piston within the cartridge, ejects gutta percha for the cartridge and needle. Reverse movement of the plunger returns it to its starting position, at which the used cartridge can be removed and replaced.The cartridge and needle are of aluminum or aluminum alloy.

Abstract: A device for locking the blade of a rotary lawn mower from rotation comprising a handle and two side members in planar relation with the handle and oriented normal to the handle, each of the side members having attached thereto a leg extending outwardly from the side member and forming a channel between the leg and the side member for receipt of a rotary mower blade and additionally being spaced from the side member to form a groove between the legs and the side members for receipt of the vertical element of the mower housing; means at the groove between the legs and the side members for causing a friction fit of the device on the mower housing.

Abstract: Disclosed is an articulated headrest for use with dental chairs and the like which can be quickly and easily converted from left hand to right hand operation. A simple clutch mechanism locks the headrest at any adjusted position. The mechanism for unlocking the clutch is a push button located at the side of the headrest. This mechanism is contained in a housing which can be easily removed and its components rearranged to move the push button from one side of the headrest to the other.
