  • Patent number: 7396210
Abstract: Quick attachable and detachable mounting arms for ceiling fans. A first version has flat headed fasteners initially attached to one end of mounting arms, with key-hole slots in the endshield of the ceiling fan motor. The user raises the mounting arm so that the flat headed fasteners fits through the larger openings in the keyhole slots and then pulls the mounting arm outward until the arm locks in place by the smaller opening portions of the keyhole slots. Rubber type gaskets and washers help lock and hold the mounting arms in place. The flat headed fasteners can also be located on the endshields with the keyhole slots on mounting arms. A second embodiment includes inwardly deformable springably snapable Fasteners that can be located on the ends of the mounting arms which can deform inwardly and expand after passing through slots on the endshield of the rotor. Alternatively, the fasteners can be located on the bottom of the endshield with the receiving slots on the ends of the mounting arms.

  • Patent number: 7281899
Abstract: Easy to attach and detach blades for overhead ceiling fans. A first version has a ceiling fan blade with keyhole slots that fit over flat topped fasteners on a mounting arm. Pulling the blade away from the arm locks the slots to the fasteners. A second version is similar to the first and has a decorative bottom cover having snappable tapered protrusions which attach through the keyholes and into mateable through-holes in the mounting arm connection. The third version has a protruding end portion of the blade that fits into a slot in the mounting arm where spring loaded pistons press into grooves in the protrusion end portion of the blade. Latching handles allow users to manually move the pistons. A fourth version has a slot in the blade which fits about a mateable housing in the mounting arm where opposing spring loaded pistons press into interior wall grooves in the slot of the blade.

  • Patent number: 7178952
Abstract: A theft deterrent outdoor lighting, comprising in combination a light housing for housing a light, a battery for storing electrical energy, an alarm and a motion detector electrically connecting the alarm to the battery to actuate the alarm when motion is detected, whereby theft of the theft deterrent outdoor lighting is deterred by the alarm.

  • Patent number: 7037080
Abstract: An improved fan blade is constructed from a series of wooden slats. Holes are drilled through the wooden slats and a dowel is placed through each of the holes. The dowel is preferably a wooden rod that is secured in the hole with wood glue. Alternatively, the dowels may be constructed from metal and have threaded ends that receive threaded end caps. The end caps are placed over the ends of the dowel to firmly secure the wooden slats together. The design provides improved rigidly and reduces the likelihood of portions of the fan blade breaking loose. The improved rigidity further allows the use of softer, less dangerous and less expensive materials to be used in the construction of the fan blade.

  • Patent number: 6926423
Abstract: A device and system for simulating the flicker of candle flame is provided by the present invention. A series of independent charging and discharging circuits are provided that produce power waveforms having duty cycles that vary from a highest duty cycle to a lowest duty cycle. The power waveforms are provided to a series of LEDs arranged in a vertical stack. The lowest duty cycle power waveform is provided to the highest LED in the stack and the highest duty cycle power waveform is provided to the lowest LED in the stack. An approximately flame shaped housing that is partially translucent is positioned around the vertical stack of LEDs such that the light from the LEDs is visible while the LEDs themselves are not. A solar panel and an associated rechargeable battery are used to power the device.

  • Patent number: 6776508
Abstract: A landscaping light fixture including a housing containing a lamp such as an incandescent lamp or LED, that produces light when powered, a lens through which light from the passes and a multi-colored wheel, strip or shutter juxtapositioned between the lamp and lens such that the light emitted from the lamp shines through the color wheel, strip or shutter and then through the lens, the wheel, strip or shutter including a translucent material of different segmented color or of a graduated color and being operatively positioned within the housing of the landscaping light fixture to be movable to align the colored segment or graduation of the wheel, strip or shutter into alignment with the lamp such that the light emitted from the lamp shines through the color wheel, strip or shutter prior to shining through the lens assembly.

  • Patent number: 6688850
Abstract: Hook on and lock blades for ceiling fans. Hooks on either end portions of blades, on mounting arms or on rotors adjacent to the ceiling fan motors allow the blades to easily hook onto the motor assembly. Folding down the blade causes at least one lock to exist that restricts lateral movement between the blade and the motor. There are various types of techniques for locking the blades to the arms that can include tightly positioning a portion of one connector between two raised edges and/or walls of another connector. Additionally, the locking techniques can use snapably mateable male and female type fasteners, and the like, where the techniques restrict any lateral movement between the blades and the motor. The invention does not need removable fasteners such as screws and the like, to assemble the blades onto the ceiling fan. The hook and lock blades can be reversibly mounted allowing for greater versatility.
