  • Publication number: 20140322717
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for selectively amplifying a mutant allele of a gene. These methods include (a) contacting a sample containing a mutant and a normal allele of a gene with at least one primer that selectively modifies the normal allele of the gene and causes further amplification of the normal allele to fail or to be substantially reduced; and (b) selectively amplifying the mutant allele of the gene or a portion thereof. Other methods for detecting a mutant allele of a gene in a sample are also provided.
