Abstract: A surface cleaning head includes a housing having a front side and back side, a brush roll rotatably mounted to the housing within a suction conduit and having at least a portion proximate the opening of the suction conduit, a leading roller mounted to the housing in front of the brush roll, and a drive mechanism operatively coupled to the brush roll and the leading roller for driving the brush roll and the leading roller at same time. The brush roll includes an agitator body and a first bristle/flap arrangement comprising a first deformable flap extending from the agitator body and a first bristle strip and/or row of tufts extending from the agitator body and disposed adjacent to the first deformable flap. The first deformable flap is disposed at an aggressive angle and the first bristle strip and/or row of tufts is arranged at a passive angle.

Abstract: A system for selectively disabling use of at least selected features of a stand-alone electronic device under a predetermined set of conditions. The system establishes a state of the set of conditions as being satisfied or unsatisfied, communicates the state to the electronic device, and disables the selected features if the state is satisfied. In one embodiment, the system may be advantageously be used to prevent vehicular accidents by at least partially disabling non-emergency use of a wireless telephone in a moving vehicle. In another embodiment, the system may be used to disable features of an electronic device within a predetermined area having a boundary that is independent of a communications network cell.

Abstract: A receptacle to support and retain a plurality of used hypodermic needle and syringe combinations to prevent the accidental pricking of the care giver or patient after use comprising an outer receptacle support including a substantially cylindrical body having a centrally disposed substantially cylindrical canister recess and a plurality of peripherally disposed substantially cylindrical liquid retaining tube recesses formed therein to selectively receive and support an inner disinfectant canister and a plurality of substantially cylindrical liquid retaining tubes respectively wherein the inner disinfectant retaining canister includes a substantially cylindrical tube to operatively house a disinfectant solution therein and a penetrable membrane to receive the used hypodermic needles therethrough to support and retain the used hypodermic needles in the disinfectant solution for subsequent disposal of the used hypodermic needle and syringe combinations.
