  • Publication number: 20120173202
Abstract: A method and system and the use of a 3-D positioning system for monitoring a landfill and landfill material added thereto and undergoing compaction and measures in real time the relative density of the compressed landfill material. The method and system calculates thickness, volume, density during the landfill operation to ensure that the landfill is comprised of compacted layers of substantially optimized density.

  • Patent number: 5671160
Abstract: A system for three-dimensional position sensing including a target station, a reference station and a means for accurately calculating the position of the target station relative to the reference station. The system includes the use of at least one gyroscope and a computer to determine the position of the target station. Such a system may be used in land surveying, earth grading machinery position sensing, marine navigation and coordinate measuring.
