  • Patent number: 4668122
Abstract: An off-the-road landfill compactor has large wheels with two piece cutting cleats the inner portion of which are attached to the outer surface of the wheels. The outer, replaceable portion of the cleat is secured to the inner portion by bolts which are directed toward each other but at an incline toward the center of the wheel so that tightening the bolts wedges the outer cleat portion into tighter contact with the inner portion. The bolts engage fastening means retained in recesses provided in the inner portion of the cleat.

  • Patent number: 4379565
Abstract: A self-propelled refuse or trash compactor is provided at each cleated drum wheel with a fixed cylinder which extends around the axle housing of the compactor to the periphery of the drum wheel. A minimum operating clearance between the cylinder and the periphery of the drum wheel is allowed and is located such that there is no adjacent structure which may guide a discarded length of cable, for example, into said clearance. The fixed cylinder and drum wheel are also related so that the clearance is in the form of a labyrinth and the passage of the cable in any case and other debris in general through the clearance is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4193468
Abstract: A landfill or trash compaction machine has an enclosure which includes an upper removable housing and a lower removable underpan. Power means is provided for lowering the underpan to the ground and for returning it to and holding it in its normal position. When lowered, the underpan provides access to the interior of the machine from below and serves as a platform on which the servicing mechanic may stand within the machine.

  • Patent number: 4187036
Abstract: A dual roll vibratory compactor is provided with a single lever control for initiating travel in either direction and then starting the rotation of the eccentric weights to vibrate the rolls. Either or both rolls vibrate at low or high selected frequencies according to travel direction. A mode control switch is provided to provide the desired selections. A switch for reversing the selections is provided to maintain the same selections when the compactor is turned around.

  • Patent number: 3966344
Abstract: An adjustable vibratory roller of the type used for compacting soil, asphalt, etc. A rapidly rotating vibration inducing assembly is provided within the compaction roll. The assembly comprises two weights pivotably mounted on supporting channels and a double-ended, fluid operated hydraulic cylinder connected to the weights to pivot them both simultaneously around their respective axes. The cylinder is pivotably mounted on the supporting channels, and one end of its piston rod is directly connected to one of the weights while the other end of its piston rod is connected to the other weight via a connecting link.
