Patent number: 7854324Abstract: A shipping carrier having a frame with an elongated tube and an elongated retainer attached to the tube. Dunnage made of a compressible material is attached to the retainer and that dunnage has a plurality of space for recesses, each of which has spaced-apart sides and are dimensioned to receive an edge of a component. A guard is attached to the dunnage so that the guard overlies at least a portion of one side of the dunnage recess. Additionally, a subcomponent may be attached to the dunnage with a screw anchor.Type: GrantFiled: August 14, 2006Date of Patent: December 21, 2010Assignee: C & D Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Charles Farley, Craig Hefner

Patent number: 7237993Abstract: A shipping carrier having a frame with at least one elongated cylindrical mounting rod extending transversely across the frame. A plurality of retainers each having molded dunnage are provided wherein each retainer has a flexible tubular cylindrical section with an axially extending through slot formed along one side. The cylindrical section has an inside diameter substantially the same as the outside diameter of the mounting rod and the slot has a width less than the outside diameter of the mounting rod. Dunnage is attached to each of the retainers. The retainers are detachably mounted to the mounting rod by inserting the cylindrical section onto the mounting rod through the slot. The retainer is then pivotal on the mounting rod between a holding position and a release position.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2005Date of Patent: July 3, 2007Inventors: Charles Farley, Craig Hefner

Patent number: 6406721Abstract: A salve for treating burns for reducing pain and scarring to burned skin. The salve for treating burns includes combining 3 parts of pork fat with 2 parts of chopped Hydrangea plant by weight to form a mixture. Heating the mixture at a temperature of 175 degrees Celsius until the Hydrangea plant has turned brown. Straining the mixture to define a strained mixture. Cooling the strained mixture to a temperature less than 35 degrees Celsius such that the strained mixture solidifies.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2001Date of Patent: June 18, 2002Inventors: Wentzel W. Patent number: 5511916Abstract: A shipping container for dunnage, such as automotive engines, is disclosed having a rigid frame and a pair of spaced apart dunnage support members which are secured to the frame. The dunnage support members each have upwardly extending portions which are adapted to abut against and support selected areas of the dunnage. These upwardly extending portions are constructed of a material formed by the isothermal reaction of isocyanate and a resin which are selected such that the elastomeric material resulting from the isothermal reaction is essentially devoid of entrapped air bubbles. A method for forming the dunnage support members is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1991Date of Patent: April 30, 1996Assignee: Aldon Pattern, Inc.Inventors: Charles Farley, Lawrence E. Plawecki

Patent number: 5193692Abstract: The present invention relates to a recyclable dunnage support assembly. The dunnage support assembly includes a dunnage support member which is secured to a frame. The dunnage support member includes at least one surface which is adapted to engage and support dunnage for shipment. Each dunnage support member, furthermore, is formed from pulverized automative tire fragments which are held together by a binder. When use of the dunnage support is no longer necessary, the dunnage support member can be repulverized into fragments which are then reconstituted together with a binder to form a new and different dunnage support assembly. As such, the dunnage support member is recyclable virtually indefinitely.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1992Date of Patent: March 16, 1993Inventors: Charles Farley, Lawrence E. Plawecki

Patent number: 5154297Abstract: A foot assembly is disclosed which is attachable to a box in order to simulate a pallet. The foot assembly includes a base having a foot extending outwardly from one side of the base. The opposite side of the base is secured to a lower corner of the box. With one foot assembly attached to each lower corner of the box, the foot assemblies space the bottom of the box upwardly from the ground supporting surface thereby simulating a pallet.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1991Date of Patent: October 13, 1992Assignee: Aldon Pattern, Inc.Inventor: Charles Farley
