  • Patent number: 6940030
Abstract: An apparatus for a hinged key switch is presented which operates around a hinged pivot point located external to the four points of the key cap, and which comprises a rubber spring providing a vertical bias and an arm with an extension which acts as a stopper when it abuts a raised portion of the mounting plate. The rubber spring is integrally formed from a rubber sheet which is supported on one side by the mounting plate and on the other by the back plate. The stopper extends vertically downward from the key cap and acts to limit the movement of the key in the vertical direction. A horizontal extension from a lower portion of the key cap further extends downward and through a slot in the mounting plate and has a hook which abuts an underside of the mounting plate, such extension from the key cap acting as the pivot point around which the key rotates.

  • Publication number: 20050104853
Abstract: A wake-up system for an input device having a circuit board inside it has a motion sensor mounted on the printed circuit board inside the input device. The motion sensor has a motion signal output and the wake-up system further include a detection circuit connected to the motion signal output. The detection circuit has a wake-up signal output. The input device can be an optical wireless mouse. The motion sensor may be a mechanical motion sensor such as a tilt sensor having a ball contact and stationary contacts. The stationary contacts may be printed directly on the printed circuit board. The ball contact and stationary contacts form an electrical switch and are gold-plated. The ball contact is conductive. The motion sensor may be sealed to avoid corrosion. The detection circuit detects a change of state of whether the electrical switch formed by the ball contact and stationary contact is opened or closed.

  • Patent number: 6877919
Abstract: A portable foldable keyboard comprised of two housings, each of which contains a key assembly, and a central hinge. The two housings can be slid together when the keyboard is unfolded and they interlock to form a sturdy keyboard having the standard QWERTY keyswitch layout.

  • Publication number: 20030159054
Abstract: A reconfigurable secure input device (RSID) receives an encryption key and at least one transformation instruction. The RSID stores the encryption key in a memory section. The RSID stores the at least one transformation instruction in a second memory section. A RSID processor utilizes the at least one transformation instruction to create a plurality of transformed codes. The plurality of transformed codes along with a plurality of values corresponding to each of the plurality of potential actual input device inputs are both stored in a transformed lookup table. The RSID processor receives an actual input device input. The RSID processor matches the actual input device input with one of the plurality of the potential keyboard inputs to create a matching value. The RSID processor outputs a matching transformed code from the transformed lookup table corresponding to the matching value.

Abstract: A reconfigurable secure keyboard console receives an encryption key and at least one transformation instruction. The reconfigurable secure keyboard console stores the encryption key in a reconfigurable first memory. The reconfigurable secure keyboard console stores the at least one transformation instruction in a reconfigurable second memory. A keyboard processor utilizes the at least one transformation instruction to create a plurality of transformed codes. The plurality of transformed codes along with a plurality of values corresponding to each of the plurality of potential keyboard inputs are both stored in a transformed lookup table.
