Patent number: 11721424Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a cloud-assisted rehabilitation system for assisting in the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions, and a method for rehabilitating patients having musculoskeletal conditions. A rehabilitation portal can aggregate and de-identified musculoskeletal rehabilitation information that is gathered from various intelligent musculoskeletal rehabilitation apparatuses attached to a group of patients. The rehabilitation portal can facilitate crowd communication among the group of patients. A particular rehabilitation experience can be compared with other rehabilitation experiences and data from other patients. The rehabilitation portal can also facilitate crowd communication among a group of healthcare professionals so that the plurality of healthcare professionals can communicate with each other and compare information regarding different rehabilitation experiences based at least on the aggregated de-identified musculoskeletal rehabilitation information.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2022Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: CARKMH, LLCInventors: Rexford Irving Hughes, Daniel Charles Fitzpatrick, Cale Gage Bruckner, Howard Wayne Skipper

Patent number: 9424393Abstract: A method for accessing, processing, presenting, and/or storing electronic medical record (EMR) information on a touch-sensitive display includes reading EMR information, displaying at least a portion of the EMR information on a touch-sensitive sliding timeline, detecting finger swipe or similar gestures, and scrolling the sliding timeline so that a different portion of the EMR information is displayed chronologically on the touch-sensitive sliding timeline. The resolution of the timeline can be expanded or collapsed in response to pinch gestures. The timeline is divided into a columns, each column including icons representing medical related events. A second timeline having a different time resolution from the first timeline is used for navigating the medical related events. Different levels of detail regarding the medical related events can be viewed in different detail panes. An EMR access device and system are also disclosed, which are configured to access and present EMR information.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2014Date of Patent: August 23, 2016Assignee: EMERGENT HEALTH CARE SOLUTIONS, LLCInventors: Rexford Irving Hughes, Daniel Charles Fitzpatrick, William Dale Denny, Cale Gage Bruckner, Charles Martel Augustine, Jason Lloyd Cowsill, Howard Wayne Skipper

Patent number: 8104311Abstract: Tubular pipe insulation is made from a glass fiber mat produced utilizing a rotary glass fiberization process. A spinner disc is rotated to centrifuge molten glass through fiberization holes in an annular sidewall of the spinner disc and form primary glass fibers. The primary glass fibers are attenuated and formed into a veil where the fibers are dispersed to reduce in length the fiber networks formed from the fibers. Binder is applied to the fibers and the fibers are collected into a mat that, when pulled apart by longitudinally directed, opposing forces, separates across the width of the mat into two mat sections having feathered edges with substantially no fibrous stringers extending beyond the feathered edges for a distance greater than about four inches. The leading mat section is then wound about a mandrel and the binder in the mat is cured to form the pipe insulation.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2006Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Assignee: Johns ManvilleInventors: John Wayne Baker, Rodney Roger Smalley, Alessandro G. Patent number: 7901446Abstract: There is provided a thin-walled self-sealing vascular graft with a first tubular structure formed from ePTFE and having a wall thickness of 0.2 mm or less, and a resealable polymer layer, such as a styrene copolymer, located on one surface of said first tubular structure. A second tubular structure may also be present, so that the resealable polymer layer is disposed between said first and second tubular structure. The second tubular structure is preferably formed from a textile layer but can also be ePTFE. The graft can be used for replacing a defective portion of the vasculature in a patient in need thereof.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 2006Date of Patent: March 8, 2011Assignees: Vascutek Limited, Terumo KKInventors: Charles Fitzpatrick, Tadanori Okubo

Patent number: 7780622Abstract: There is described an artificial blood vessel for use in a region of a living body which needs to be repeatedly pierced with a needle. The artificial blood vessel includes a main section having a vessel wall which includes a laminated assembly comprising an inner layer, an outer layer, and an intermediate layer positioned therebetween, and a pair of anastomotic sections disposed on the respective opposite ends of the main section. Each of the anastomotic sections has an intermediate layer thinner than the intermediate layer of the main section or is free of an intermediate layer, so that the anastomotic section as a vessel wall thinner than the main section.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2005Date of Patent: August 24, 2010Assignees: Vascutek Limited, Terumo CorporationInventors: Charles Fitzpatrick, Tadanori Okubo

A second tubular structure may also be present, so that the resealable polymer layer is disposed between said first and second tubular structure. The second tubular structure is preferably formed from a textile layer but can also be ePTFE. A method of forming such a self-sealing graft is also provided comprising the steps of wrapping unsintered ePTFE tape helically onto a mandrel such that adjacent turns of the ePTFE tape overlap; sintering the layers of tape by heating above the crystalline melting point of ePTFE to form a sintered tubular structure, and applying a resealable polymer layer to one surface of said first tubular structure. The graft can be used for replacing a defective portion of the vasculature in a patient in need thereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 2, 2006Publication date: February 5, 2009Applicants: VASCUTEK LIMITED, TERUMO KKInventors: Charles Fitzpatrick, Tadanori Okubo
